I am an optimistic realist. We aren't super bowl ready but I am hopeful even after 44 years of heartbreak. I don't expect to win all but want to play hard/well and see progress. It still bothers me when we lose, but games like last week kill because I saw no progress ie hope. Unfortunately, I realize as we become better and have more to play for the losses will again hurt more.

I look forward to every game and while this one looks tough from a Jets-at-Baltimore and a Ravens-home-record historical standpoint, here's hoping they can pull out a big win.

Bonus points: the Jints not only lose to Dallas, but they blow a huge lead in doing so capped off by Eli (who I like) pulling a "Romo" by spittinig the bit with a dumber-than-dirt mistake at crunch time ..... with WFANFatso eating that shit sandwich on air the next day.

Jets are notoriously a 2nd half team. One thing that you can't knock the Jets on is they make adjustments. Mangini isn't coaching this team

#2, this past game hit me hard.

One of the hardest hit games was losing to Seattle in 08, the first time I truly thought we had a team that could win the Superbowl. Losing to Seattle in week 16 when they played 4 back-up offensive lineman, it was pitiful.

Are you implying you beat your significant other each time the Jets lose? Sorry there's more to life then football. That explains your hate for Sanchez though, you may want to check and see if she has #6 tatted on her ass-check

I am not judging you. So what if you like Barry Manilow and long walks in the park, who am I to judge.

16 games, I look forward to every single one and I go in thinking we're winning every game.

Hell, the year we went 1-15 I thought we were going 12-4.

    I've gotten used to disappointment.

I am a sick individual, and I clearly have a problem. But I have been getting amped up and ready to go every single game since 1980. I honestly hope that never changes. I love "loving" the Jets.

I'm more concerned with Thanksgiving dinner than I am with the Jets vs. The Ravens. If Good Geno shows up, we stand a puncher's chance. If Bad Geno shows up, just another loss. I've seen both so far this year and honestly, I'm already waiting for the encore in '14. I don't deal in false hope.

In the meantime, I have a dinner to plan for and cold weather inbound. My priorities are with outside temps, smoking woods for my Turkey and Brisket, where to get my fixins, etc..

This game is a season defining game. How any fan could not look forward to it, baffles me. Whoever wins will have a good shot at the AFC WC spot. The Jets cannot lose to another AFC team, especially one contending for that spot. Either the Jets beat Baltimore, effectively knocking them out of contention and solidify our spot, OR the Ravens get back into the picture at the Jets expense, and we lose a tie breaker with yet another AFC team. HUGE game with HUGE implications. I am most definitely looking forward to this, hoping our W/L pattern will continue and we beat Baltimore for the first time in ages.

Iv seen this Movie before ! As a matter of fact , I have seen this movie 20+ times . It played last year too. We controlled our own destiny and failed to seize the moment.

I cheer the same every game and I never go in thinking "ah we suck forget about it". I am a Jets fan for life and no matter where I am in the world that allegiance will never end.

Dreading, because we are in that same position again. can this team Seize the moment? we shall see.

If on the first series, Geno throws a pick-six, I will immediately go get a half rack of beer and watch the game in a frazzled state. If he moves the team up the field, consistently, I will stay sober and watch unaffected.

I'm definitely the first option but at the same time I realize that football is just football, which is a game. I'm so used to watching teams lose (Mets fan too, FML) and playing on losing baseball teams in HS and College that it doesn't faze me any more. Disappointing, of course, but emotionally devastating, nah, not since I was a kid and watched that Doug Brien game. The only time I've come close to being really distraught over watching sports was the Jets recent trip to the AFC championship game, I didn't move from my couch staring at the ceiling for 4 hours speachless after that game

I'll channel Bart Scott, as the original poster did: Can't wait!

Would I rather have a Jets victory? Yes, or else I wouldn't be here. Depending upon the score at any given time, I may grumble about the team and roll my eyes. Regardless of whatever happens on the field, football's a game of chance. You pays your monies, you takes your chances. Doesn't mean I won't get a brief lift from reading accounts of a Jets victory, but I'm rather immune to a letdown from a loss. There are plenty of teams whose fans have to be like this for.

    In Rex I trust.

Just got most of my fixins yesterday and I plan on starting the turkey brine late Tuesday night.

Need to go down to Chef Central to get another pop-over pan, having 15 people for dinner, the dozen pan just isn't going to cut it.
