    No?

Tannenbaum pulle the fast one on him. We certainly didn't run him out of town.

And Herm & Bradway tag team fucked him real bad.

Geno has given teams 5 TDs and 16 additional possessions on top of those TDs, plus is leading the league in 3 and outs. Geno is doing nothing to help anyone.

If the Colts hired Idzik do they draft Geno?

If the Redskins hired Idzik do they draft Geno?

If the Seahawks promoted Idzik do they draft Geno?

If the Packers hired Idzik do they draft Geno?

If the Saints hired Idzik do they draft Geno?

When you don't have stability at a position, especially at the QB position; and the best one falls in your lap you have to take him.

If Sanchez was even decent Idzik never drafts Geno and Sanchez (barring injury) is the starter heading into the Baltimore game.

Chad didn't get run out of town because the Jets thought he was bad. He got run out of town because the Jets thought he was finished. He had one season after that and then he was finished.

If anything this offseason is shaping up to be a beaut. I got my popcorn ready.

    This is all true.

If Sanchez was decent though Mike Tannenbaum never gets the heave-ho. A good QB covers up a lot of flaws that will otherwise be glaring issues after a while.

Barring a collapse down the stretch I think this will be one of the quietest off-seasons for the Jets since the early 90's. I expect the Muhammad Wilkerson deal to catch us all totally off-guard with no leaks beforehand.

did any of those teams change GMs this offseason?

Idzik walked into a situation where he didn't have any say in the HC and most GMs get to pick their HC and QB so there's no way he wasn't picking his QB.

mark was damaged goods and had never done anything for Idzik, if tannenbaum is back or if Rex has power mark is the starter w/o a doubt.

They didn't think he was finished, they got tired of his injuries. Clearly he wasn't finished taking a 1 win team to 11 wins and a div title w/ half the talent Favre had around him w/ us.

I don't know if it will be quiet w/ all the cap room and picks but I do expect Mo to get extended.

That's a good point Tanny would still be here. Even if the last 2 years turned out the way it did. If Sanchez could've maintained a steady level of play then you can say that all Sanchez needs are some legit playmakers. Idk if better talent will make him more accurate or improves his decision making.

I'll just say this one last time, I promise.

That NYG game made it absolutely clear that Geno was not even close to being a starter in the NFL. I can't believe people to this day can't see or can't put aside their hate for Sanchez to admit this fact that Geno did not deserve the starting position after that performance.

And it was the 3rd preseason game.

    That is all ...

Woody felt pressure from the fans and media to make a move. The perceived "cap hell" which was a joke and the way 2012 ended w/ Mark sucking and the team in shambles but the reality is the cap was easily managed and we would have been better keeping Tannenbaum but the fans and media demanded blood and Woody was to weak to ignore it.

I despise the Giants but I commend their ownership for not buckling to fans/media wishes. if they did Coughlin and Eli would have been gone before they won a single SB.

Talent alone no, but talent + WCO + MM then yes, ask Michael Vick.

mute makes a great point, but any normal sports fan would have seen that. Jets fans just hated the QB with the most playoff wins in franchise history that much, they ignored it. Sad.

What doomed Tanny is not bringing in skill players to support Sanchez, bringing in Tebow, and the hire of Sporano.

He was playing on a hobbled ankle that affected how he plants throws or his mobility and it was his 1st start(In preseason). By all accounts, Geno should not have played that game but he wanted to tough it out to win the competition and win his teammates over.

Continually lamenting the Sanchez situation is pointless. If he doesn't get hurt, he still has to play like he never has before to remain the QB for the entire season because Idzik was (rightly) determined to see what we had in Geno. Sanchez's injury just eliminated all the hemming and hawing over when to make the switch.
