Another great tackle by Flowers. Peyton wants to go for this 4th and 1, but it doesn't make much sense to do. Kick the 3 and you have a 17 point lead on a team that's scored 10 all game. Not sure you need 21 to put the game away
Oh welp I was fooled by Peyton. Broncos kicking here, Manning rushed to the line pretty quick so I thought they were really going for it
Why didn't the Chiefs even try to block a punt with a minute and a half left? The only chance you have is getting a quick score.
Alex Smith seems to have some sort of mental deficiency that makes him unable to process that when you're way behind with hardly any time left you have to throw the ball down the field, even if you're not very good at it.
that was one of the worst last gasp drives I have ever seen. Smith dumps it off twice when your only chance is chucking it deep.
there's no point in having a guy run to the flat in that situation, you send every guy who isn't blocking (or the QB) deep. End of story.
also it made the third down gain completely pointless 3rd and 17. They gain 10, and then punt it into the end zone. Brutal.
Who you guys got tonight? I think the Pats roll by 10. That extra week off will help and the Pats always seem to take off later in the year.
I'm leaning towards NE too. Hard to pick against them even though CAR is playing some good football. NE is a different type of offense than they've seen all year (They haven't played NO yet)
Interesting stat from ESPN, Pats are 24-1 since 2010 in the second half of the regular season. What makes it even more surprising is more playoff losses than second half regular season losses in that timespan.
On the contrary, it doesn't seem surprising to me. You play all the good teams in the playoffs and unless you win the super bowl every year you lose one playoff game. So Pats had to win 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls to have less playoff losses than their losses in the last half of the season.
I think the more shocking thing is the regular season dominance in the second half. But I did forget, you guys don't really rest people up, which is where I would expect losses to come form, having things wrapped up
Pats don't rule the NFL Also number of regular season games are far more than playoff games. So it is only natural to expect more losses in regular season.
Talib held on for way to long, but I don't think it should have been 15 yards on him. Smith instantly wrapped Talib up around the head when they were on the ground.
