more consistent run game b/c we had an OC who wasn't pass happy. D was better(but folded in late situations often).

he had a better OL but it was not the best and our run game was good not great.

the offensive talent we had around the QB yesterday was as good as what we had in 2009. Against NO it was not but yesterday w/ the 3 guys coming back it was.

If Jets had Marty as the OC at the start of Sanchez's career [and Bray staying, OL being replenished in time, drafting well, etc etc] Jets would have made it deep in the post season every year.

Geno coached by Brian - makes me laugh just at the thought of it.

P.S. For those 'Geno has NOBODY to support him' check this out:

Nacho's first TD pass went to - brace yourself - Chansi Stuckey *Gulp*

That year started with Cotchery at #1, with Stuckey at #2. *Braylon tagged along only in the mid season.* They had 2nd year player in Dustin Keller.

Okay. I get it. Geno doesn't have good supporting cast. But don't paint it like Sanchez had EVERYTHING. He didn't have much either. If I had to tell you, I'd say Santonio Holmes is about twice as good as Cotchery as a receiver. [No diss to Cotchery, but that's how it is.]

How did he hurt the team? With what? He didn't turn the ball over, he converted some plays with his feet.....with his short throws.

He game managed. Game managers never hurt the team, they just don't put them on their backs. That's what happened with Geno vs NO.

I disagree, Mark didn't need to throw 30 times a game as a rookie. we played it very smart w/ him early on. Now w/ Marty he'd be much better. Geno would have been better off w/ a 2009 approach rather than throwing way too much like he has been most of the year.

Our run game wasn't great? Our backs weren't great- our run game was awesome. Throw in Brad Smith out of the wildcat as well, which was a huge component of our offense that year- something Geno doesnt really have the benefit of either.

A screen pass and a dump off -- all YAC plays.

Geno with the best OL and running game in football, Cotchery, Edwards, Stuckey and Keller would have done just fine.

Jets are rushing for 130 yards a game -- Sanchez got 170 a game. 40 yards is a lot, but 130 yards a game is solid production from your running game. You need your QB to make some plays, move the chains when needed, and don't turn the ball over.

Smith doesn't do that -- do the Jets lead the league in 3 and outs?

You obviously weren't following your team.

    1. Braylon tagged along mid-season in Sanchez's rookie year. That year started off with Cotchery at #1 and Stuckey at #2.

    2. Tone tagged along mid-season in Sanchez's SECOND YEAR. Sanchez NEVER HAD HIM in his rookie season.

    3. Geno literally SUCKS playing under the center. Good luck with that.

To be fair, Stuckey was traded for Edwards so he wouldn't have BOTH of them.

Sanchez's worst game as a rookie he fell victim to Jarius Byrd too.

As far as the receivers go- Cotchery is still making plays and would be starting here. Holmes has been out most of the year. Kerley was out yesterday....its been a constant carousel at that position.

You weren't following his post. He never said Tone was there in 2009.

Fair point but lets not pretend that Sanchez was asked to do much on that team. Rex put him in a box which lead to the playoff run.

You aren't asking Geno to do much either. Hand the ball off, make 10 good throws a game, and don't give the game away.

I'm not allowed to discuss that player who shall not be mentioned. Get a bunch of rednecks jumping down my throat.

he was asked to do more than the #s suggest but to many people just look at boxscores and think we had the greatest running game in the history of the league. Our run game was good not great, many garbage time runs to inflate the overall #s.

Are we really comparing who sucked the least? According to this board Mark was the worst QB in football and to follow a similar path can't be good correct?

He let those guys make plays on the ball. I am not saying those are difficult passes but that was apart of the game plan and Geno just executed it. I just don't get how people can attack Geno for his game vs the Saints.
