I don't buy it. They are decent, but not great, at least not yet.

I would say they are a slightly above avg Oline at this point.

One reason is simply health. It's amazing how many teams have injuries and/or at least 1 glaring weakness along the line. The Jets fortunately do not have a big weakness there. Hopefully they stay healthy as we have no useful depth at all.

Winters is coming along. He's especially good at pulling, and pretty good run blocker overall. He completely whiffs at pass protection at times, which absolutely has to improve. I think it will as he learns the game a bit more.

Colon as well is def better at run blocking than pass. Holds a bit much when he gets beat. Overall though, he's been a tremendous leader for the team and a welcome addition.

Howard has impressed me, and looks every bit a legitimate starter in this league now.
He may never be elite, but he's solid. OT's don't grow on trees, and he should be extended.

D'brick and Mangold aren't playing up to their very high standards, but are still reliable and get the job done.

A lot of the sacks are on Geno. The protection has been there.
Run blocking has definitely been good overall. My only criticism there is they tend to struggle more against real physical teams, while easily pushing around less physical or smaller fronts. We need to be able to establish some sort of run game against everyone, to take the pressure off the rookie QB. The starts with the big boys up front.

Overall, not bad. Considering what a lot of teams are working with, that's why i'd say a little above avg.. I'd like to invest another draft pick next year in rounds 1-3.. Keep developing lineman, and have an answer ready should someone get injured.

Our O-Line has to be in the bottom 10.

They are another inconsistent part to an inconstant team

Ferguson and Mangold get a lot of credit being pro bowl linemen, but they haven't lived up to that reputation this year. The unit failed as a whole today.

They are all entirely inconsistent. Howard and Winters in particular were god awful today. Both couldnt run block or pass block if their lives depended on it today. The unit as a whole is inconsistent as can be. If they play the way they did today against Balt, this team is doomed.

They Does Not. Perhaps some of the posters on pages one and two would care to reconsider their opinions at this time.

Mangold has really regressed. Ferguson was thought to be our next great LT but is really average.

Our O-Line needs a shake up.
I miss the days of Ferguson, Faneca, Mangold, Woody and Moore. THAT was the best line in football at one point.

Call me crazy but if we drafted a legit LT and kicked Fergeson inside to guard he and Mangold I think both guys start to look pretty good.

D'Bricks a finesse guy and he is much better going up against quicker guys on the edge. I don't see him holding his own against 330 pound DTs on the inside.

No. Brick is a LT. We have an issue with a rookie LG and a down-year from Mangold, as well as only having a good but not great RG and RT.

If it makes you sleep better keep telling yourself that.

Our OL needs more beef, they are slightly below average yet they take up a lot of cap space.

No this offensive line has been mediocre...Really poor job this year in protecting the QB. Who is our OL coach?

The run game has been much better, but the pass pro is god awful. Howard has been good, but was terrible today. Winters was just... wow. Colon... I don't even know what to say about him at this point. Mangold has really regressed and D'Brick seems to be covering for Winters. This is in no way a top 5 OL, I don't even know if it's top 15-20.

I've been saying it since preseason. People like to look at the cute little stats and ratings on phony sites. If it doesn't pass the eye test, then it ain't good. Sometimes it could slip your eyes, but this line has been terrible from the start.

Run game has even picking up because of Ivory. There are the occasional blocks, but Ivory always gives the second effort.

I agree. The guy seems to get hit before the LOS on half of his carries.

Yeah he does. I remember at the beginning of the season he would get hit behind the line and guys would be calling for his head. I read the other day that a ridiculous percent of his yards are after contact, which is complete garbage by the OL.

We need to get this line fixed up. I like Howard at RT, and we should let Mangold and Brick bounce back. Hopefully Winters starts to look better and gets better all around. I don't want us to draft OL this year unless they're can't miss guys. For this offseason, I'd really like Idzik to sign a guard or two.

Rookies get better when the game slows down for them mentally, why not slow it down physically to make the mental part easier. I'm with the Geno bashing after today, but he was hurried on every single play. Get a good line assembled, and everything becomes simpler.
