Yup. Just all around terrible game.

Interceptions happened because Geno was getting nailed every play. He had no time and was rushing decisions. OL was absolute dog shit and our coverage in the secondary was abysmal. Zero bumping at the line. Way too much space in between.

Bury it and get ready for Baltimore. Bears just won baby!!!!!

No, Geno held the ball way to long. Believe what you want but Geno's play gave us zero chance of winning the game. His turnovers put the Jets in bad field position and led to points. The total lack off offense falls on Geno.

It is painfully obvious that Geno can only play from the shotgun and that limits what we can do on offense. It is also obvious that d coordinators have figured out Geno. As Mark should have been benched his rookie year it is time to bench Geno. Three bad games in a row means your ass on the bench.

See that's a bit extreme. While I'm not happy with Genos play, you don't have much of a choice. Who else is gonna play? Iv don't think Simms is gonna be head and shoulders above him.

They need to stick to 3 step drops and rollouts as this oline doesn't give any time.

I saw 30 games for Geno at WVU. It's hard to say for sure but he definitely doesn't have Stedman Bailey to throw to here. Stedman caught 25 td's just during his junior year. All Geno had to do was throw it up and Stedman would make the cb look stupid. If he didn't catch it, he made sure no one else did either. He was small and only a 4.5 receiver but had an incredible feel for the game. Having Tavon Austin didn't hurt either.

Here he's got nothing. And he can't remotely do it on his own. He's got 4.5 speed but he can't avoid the rush. Doesn't extend plays. I was rooting for him but now I'm convinced he's only going to be average at best.

He hardly had any time to work and if he had to rush the throw and it fell INC or was INT'd, people would still call for his head. Geno did not play secondary or was not on the field when EJ Manuel and the Bills offense dominated much of the 2nd quarter on that one drive(The Douzable error drive I recall)....Geno did not have tons of problems blocking against a very good Bills pass rush. He had a role in the offense stinking but you are crazy to think he single handedly made the offense stink.

Saints game wasn't bad....he did what he was called upon to do and to just make throws to make the Saints D respect the pass so Ivory can run rampant. He just didn't win us the game or do great.

He also drives me crazy by taking a ton of unnecessary hits. If he would throw the ball away while running out of bounds, he would have avoided 5 or 6 hits today. He also wouldn't have lost yardage on a number of plays.

Either give Simms a chance to compete for the starting spot or draft Johnny Football. Geno has talent but he has no competition for the starting spot to push him.

How can rex say Geno is the starter? In his last 5 games he has 1 TD and 9 Turnovers. The Jets win in spite pf Geno and lose because of him. When the best you hope to get out of your QB is to hand it off and not give the ball away you need to see what your backup can do. The offense needs a spark and Geno is a cluster right now. How many other teams would start a QB who is responsible for 20 Turnovers on the season, doesn't create scores, doesn't get his receivers involved, and only wins when he can hand off 50 times?

Am i saying Simms is the answer - no, but at least he might give the offense a spark because right now Geno has shown nothing in 5 games. He has regressed.

Correct, he has regressed. Time to try something else.

I am guessing because there is no other viable alternative that would be likely to do any better - at least with Smith you are seeing what you have and trying to give him the opportunity to improve (not that I think he will).

I think people on this board need to really learn what winning in spite of means. Geno has 7 passing TDs and 4 INTs in our 5 wins with him at QB. He also has 3 rushing TDs in those games. They aren't winning in spite of anybody, in fact when Geno plays poorly, they lose, like week 2 in NE for example.

We also have not handed off 50 times at all in any game this season.

Matt SImms is on the roster for a reason - he is your NFL caliber backup QB or he shouldn't be there. He came in and got receivers involved that were invisible all day. What you have with Geno is a QB that can't even be trusted to manage a game. How much worse can Simms do than Smith? He has as many TD in 2 series that Smith has in 5 games. Simms doesn't have to be a 300 yard passer and 5 TD, but if he can get the offense feeling good he is a better option. Teams are going to put 8 in the box and tell Geno to make a quick decision -- that hasn't ended well for Geno.

the coaches see simms in practice every day, I am sure if they felt he would do a much better job he would be in there - you cant get carried away when a guy comes in in garbage time when the game is lost and the D is playing prevent and gets a score or a few good passes together in a zero pressure environment - I do think its poor that the FO has not managed to get a decent vet in any time in the last 5 or 6 years but that has been down in large part to (I) there being very few available and (ii) a lack of money to pay them thanks to some awful contracts (not least Sanchez's)

Garbage time -- the starters on defense were still in. He showed he has a good arm, he can move around the pocket, and he can hit receivers. In the same garbage time Smith turned the ball over on two straight plays. The time between smith's final series and Simm's first series the Bills turned off their defense? The Raiders and Texans played undrafted rookies today that both had better games than Smith has had in 5 weeks.Sometimes a change is good..because sticking with SMith the offense comes into the game knowing if they can't run it's over early. The defense knows it too.

I often wonder if I'll ever see the Jets have a franchise QB in my lifetime.

Ne,week2, pitt and today, yes, and he doesn't need 2 gift penalties, at the end of games, especially TB.

Today's game was all about Pettine knowing how to smoke out a rookie. Earlier, he didn't have enough film, or a feel for his D.

Today, and NE, he threw away.

Pitt, they called a heavy run reliant game, just like today, because for some reason, they aren't letting him throw it.

The only rational conclusion it's what they are seeing in practice and meetings.

And the loss of Kerley makes it worse.
