no its not sarcasm its sheer unadulterated hobbiesness. i thought he had gotten over the sancho thing, but i guess some things die hard.
Come on. We all know how Jets luck is. He'd become a pro bowler and lead the phins to the playoffs as he torches our CBs on a regular basis. :drunk:
7-2? I highly doubt it. Maybe 6-3. Maybe 4-5. Geno's completion percentage is 58 right now which is higher than Sanchez' career average or any year during it. That means, more than likely Some of Geno's completions would not have been Sanchez completions. IMO Geno, despite his rough start with lots of turnovers, is improving at a faster rate than Mark Sanchez which bodes well for our future. There were certain humps that MS could never get over during his 4 years here. Completion percentage is a big one.
Michael Vick's career completion percentage before MM was 51.4%. With MM as his OC his completion percentage was 60.2% as a starter, nearly a 10 point jump. This year without MM it's 54.6. Like almost ALL the other QBs MM has worked with Vick's accuracy improved under his scheme. However, your presumption is that this improvement would somehow escape Sanchez? Conversely, does this mean Geno's completion percentage would be the same as it is now even under Schitty or Sparano?
You hypothetically may be right. We could be 7-2 with Sanchez or 2-7, whatever. However I'd rather be 5-4 with a young QB with a high ceiling. Instead of having a guy in place that for the most part you know what you're gonna get with him. The experience Geno gained by playing in those Steelers, Bengals, Titans and Pats games will be worth it in the long term if Geno develops right.
sanchez's time is done here people, the jets shouldn't be wasting time and money on a mediocre at best QB when they could be using it to support and give full reps to another cheaper option with higher upside. Geno is by no means a sure thing, he's not perfect and Sanchez isn't as bad as touted particularly in a better offensive scheme, but he's NOT THAT GOOD that the jets will take efforts to give him another shot. its better now for the Jets to give Smith the best support they can and to let his development come along in optimal conditions with a little experience under his belt, and then judge his extend future off the results. sanchez is 8 mill of the cap if cut next year, use that money elsewhere, (wilk's contract, FA receiver etc) theres no point in wasting time with him any longer, not for us anyhow.
You have to remember what makes Smith valuable is a he is a QB that protects the football. His INT %s are: 6.7 3.6 2.1 3.2 2.9 1.1 2.3 1.3 with an overall of 2.7 Sanchez's have been 5.5 2.6 3.3 4.0 with an overall career of 3.7 Smith has 46 fumbles to Sanchez's 43 even though Smith has started 22 more games. If Sanchez can cut down on his turnovers, he can be a good backup here or somewhere. The thing is, like Smith, it seems he needs a very strong team around him, but if he has that strong team he can have more of a scoring impact than Smith, but those turnovers
He proved what a great teammate he was this offseason when he "forgot" to invite either Smith. Simms or McElroy to his annual Jets Worst Sanchez vanity camp and again when he ran to the media crying about his winning the competition he clearly lost. I wish him well in a long healthy and well compensated David Carr clipboard holding "career" with some other team
Prob, but it doesn't matter. We win NE, and Pitt. And that puts us in front of the division,. I called NE wk2 Pitt, and that NO would be suspect outside in Nov. we actively lost two of those games, in NE, they didnt protect Geno enuff late, letting him throw in bad situations, and went over board protecting him too much in Pitt. Look, no knock on Geno. He's coming along, from a bad college offense. But ignoring the fact that we got to very fortunate flags, to NOT be a 3 win team is disingenuous. I think, the back stretch, will be telling. 9 games in, and two weeks to get ready. My main point has nothing to do with who starts, it has more to do, with...regardless of who starts, if you think you are a SB team, you don't let a guy go who is under contract, in case the starter gets injured. How many teams get thru a year with one QB? Lets say, this week for instance. 5-4. We win this game, Smith goes out for 4 weeks on a hit late in the game? Simms marching you to the playoffs?
I honestly wish Sanchez wasnt injured at this point,He mighta fit and understood Martys system much better then Ge No!!
I don't know about "great" but I do think he would have had his most efficient year. I don't think we have the weapons that would allow any QB to have a "great" season.
i think he had the potential to use the weapons on this team better than Smith. He was able to throw the quick slant, play action would have taken of, and he can throw a deep ball. Would have been fun to see.
Geno being god awful the last 3 weeks doesnt make nacho any better. Just let it all rest. Sanchez burnt his bridges in NY and the team or the fans do not want him back. He had his 4 years already. Its amazing people are still talking about this garbage QB.
Last 5 weeks -- hasn't put up a nice game since Atlanta. He led the team to the playoffs twice...he has the Jet record for TD in a season, he had a top tier Red Zone offense in 2011, 2012 was a waste all around. I think if he could have gotten a chance this season with Marty at QB he could have cut down on his mistakes, improved parts of his game, and put up a nice season.
You never know; with the way Geno is going we may get to see it next year. It would have been nice to see more 3, 5 and 7 step drops from center with or without play action, staples of the WCO. MM seemed to have pretty much put that part of the playbook away to account for Geno's inexperience with taking snaps from center and underdeveloped footwork. That's a lot of plays left out of the game plans.
How so? Martys system doesnt hide QBs and as we have seen for 4 years, Sanchez is not an accurate passer and is a turnover machine. Nothing Sanchez has shown would turn into him all of a sudden being a good QB. Especially with the lack of weapons this team has. You Sanchez fan boys need to learn to let go. Its sad for some of you that itll take watching him being a 3rd stringer or unemployed next year to finally realize just how bad of a QB he is.
