Sad for me as a long suffering fan, I am nervous about this game You would think, bye week, time to prepare, amazing DL, facing rookie QB, playoff lead "on the line" , that I would be more confident that the Jets should really lay the wood.....but I have to admit.... A stupid loss would not shock me Sad by me, sad
It wouldn't really "shock" me if we lost but, that being said, I think we win this one. Maybe not as easily as some here think but I think we walk away with the W.
The Jets have won 9 of the last 11 meetings with the Bills, mostly due to a monster running game almost every time. Definitely expect more of the same
What the hell kind of slap dick organization are they running up there? That's something the fans should be whining about - not the organization as a whole. Not to mention - every year SOMEONE has to be the team to play the most games vs. a team coming off a bye. Buffalo is that team once in their history and they choose to publicly bitch about it? That's pathetic. Winners would look at that as an opportunity. Ie. "they are coming off a bye, so they will be rusty early, let's take advantage." Now I don't expect Buffalo to be winners, because let's face it, they have sucked for over a decade now, but bitching about it like that? Filing a grievance with the league? Also - they have to be about the only team I've ever seen that would bitch about playing a team coming off a Thursday night game. Are you kidding me? They are pathetic.
not sad by any means. we both have been conditioned over the years to expect the worst and this is a classic backdrop where the jets could lay an egg.
Give them some empathy...they live in frigging Buffalo where kielbasa is haute cuisine and bowling is a major aerobic physical activity
So crazy, just checked 2 days ago and it looked like it was going to be mostly sunny and mild. My sopne is at Cuse and it was bitter cold and windy yesterday and he was telling me it was supposed to go to 60 today or tomorrow. That western and central NY weather is too weird to predict. It could be sunny and 70 at game time  _
I actually mentioned this earlier in the thread, before the Bills complained. Last year, 4 of their games in a 5-week stretch were against teams coming off their bye or a Thursday Night game. Their bye week was also compromised last year, on top of that. The Bills had to play the Patriots after the Patriots bye-week 4 years in a row. How astronomical are those odds? So, this isn't exactly a new thing for the Bills. It has happened to them before, and only just last year. I don't see it as whining, but just telling the league that this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Playing six teams this year with extra time to prepare, rest, and get healthy is too much. Why exactly does that have to ever happen to ANY team? Teams with that extra time DO have an edge, or at least the opportunity to have one. They are historically slightly more likely to win the game (by about 4%). That may not sound like much, but teams with home-field advantage are only 3% more likely to win than THAT, generally speaking. Of course home-field advantage is an advantage, otherwise it wouldn't be called that. Also, what are the odds of a team winning a game against an opponent coming off extra rest for say the fifth or sixth time in the same year? I don't know. There are more dynamics at play. For example, how much does facing fresher bodies wear your team down more when you face them routinely? Are there more injuries over time? The league SHOULD look into this and keep it in mind when they create EVERYONE'S schedule. That makes sense to me. It's not "bitching" any more than it's bitching when you contact the league and say something like "hey, I don't think the tuck rule belongs in this game." That's how change happens. Of course, the Jets get extra time to prepare for the Bills in BOTH of their match-ups this year. They also had to play the Dolphins coming off their bye, so HALF of their division games give the opponent a possible edge.
I checked the Buffalo weather a couple of days ago too. It said 30% chance of rain, but now it says that it's been upgraded to 60% chance of rain. Of course, the weather forecast comes into sharper relief the closer you come to the day in question. I expect it to be in the 50s, though. But you get cold a lot quicker when it's raining and overcast, obviously...so it seems colder than that, especially if you add in the wind-chill factor. Sounds like possibly a miserable day, or a good day for football. If it's windy and raining, that'll affect the game...there are two rookie QBs, so especially the passing game even more so than usual. By the way, the game is sold out, and there won't be a blackout in Buffalo, which was also discussed earlier.
