After all of these years and passing on him for Bryan Thomas -- he's finally a Jet.

This is a fantastic signing! One year deal (Texans are on the hook for most of his salary), good experience and leadership. This is a win/win for the Jets this season. I like it!

Can't hurt. Costs little, better than some of our current safeties even if tank is near empty.

Helps us a lot in the two remaining hard games left to play...at Ravens and at Panthers

Waste of time and money. The old man just needs to hang it up. He was ATROCIOUS in Houston and was benched for a nobody due to his horrifically bad play. Missing tackles, avoiding contact, just a complete waste of money. But hey, given how bad our secondary is I guess it couldn't hurt anything. But those of you expecting an impact player will be severely disappointed. He's been awful

This move is awesome because reed knows the system and is familiar with coaches that helped get him to where he is today.

Furthermore, it moves Landry to a strong safety type and Reed to the deep safety
Basically spying the QB out on the field. AA will still keep his role as well as the hybrid LB/S.

To have his knowledge back there is huge for this secondary. Don't compare his time in Houston because he was in a different system. This move really helps us significantly.

I don't think so no, but ya never know. Before the NO game there was much speculation that Rex was coaching for his job. What ever happens the rest of the season, Rex will either get the credit or the blame.

If Woody is happy with this years results then Rex is probably safe, if not than Rex is probably gone.

Good thing we aren't signing him to be an every down safety and to play the run. Let him do what he does best, patrol deep on passing downs.

I say this... But Brady absolutely hates him on the field which is why I think the Jets picked him up.

Your team as a whole has been terrible. I think with a better staff and a playbook he's familiar with he can do something decent in a LIMITED ROLE

You guys asked him to do too much early on.

This my sentiment, nice post. Now we have two malcontents on the team, Holmes and Reed. I see him mouthing off the same way he did in Houston.

I hope he proves me wrong.

    Negative ass nancy.

What's the hurt? If you are right and he fails, we have the same 3 guys that were ahead of him on the depth chart before he signed here.
