Just saying, Geno's top 4 targets have missed time (Holmes, Kerley, Cumberland and Winslow). I feel no pity for Manuel in that respect. The Bills have also asked Manuel to do far less.
It's not "we". There is a very distinct circle of Jets "fans" here who come out of the woodwork only when Jets loose specifically to shit on the team. Wahoo, yahoo, and half dozen others. It almost like they want Jets to loose so that their life will become interesting for a week.
Unless 85% of the non-premium tickets are sold, the games are blacked out in the local market. We(new york market) will be able to see the game but people who live in the Buffalo market won't see it. Some teams like Miami have difficulty selling the tickets so the club itself pays for the tickets at a discounted rate so that the game can be televised.
The Bills have had at least three receivers miss time that I know of. Most of the Bills receivers are either rookies or have had zero NFL catches going into this year. Only two guys on the Bills roster at WR have ever caught an NFL pass before this year. The only guy with experience besides Stevie Johnson is a second-year player one-trick-pony that isn't very good. Looks like Robert Woods is going to be out this week, and that won't help Manuel at all. Stevie is questionable. And having Hackett as the QB coach does not help. Don't forget that Manuel was hurt in the preseason and missed a month of regular season, which he came back from looking like he forgot how to play the game. His development has been stinted. Also, I don't see why anybody thinks that the Jets are so much better than the Bills to label this as a trap game. Yeah, the Bills laid an egg big-time last week, but they've been in every game down to the wire this year except for a couple, even though they played 2 different undrafted QBs with zero or next-to-zero real NFL game-time experience for about 4-and-a-half games. The Bills were basically 1-4 without Manuel. They were winning the Cleveland game before Manuel went down. The Jets have gotten their clocks cleaned a couple of times this year too, both road games. Won a couple of games at the end on some incredibly lucky breaks. These teams aren't so far apart is what I'm saying. No way this game is a cakewalk. I expect the Bills to prepare for this game as if it's the Super Bowl considering where they are and what happened last week.
I was just thinking about that Low Level 40 yard line Jets sideline tickets are going for 64 bucks on stubhub. I wish I had more Jets fan friends. I could do the trip in a heartbeat.
I doubt the game will be blacked out in Buffalo. There are only 4,500 tickets left. I see the league granting an extension until Friday to sell them if they don't sell out by 1 PM Thursday. Somebody is bound to buy the rest of them. Tough to knock Bills fans, though. A 3-7 small-market team in a depressed economy that hasn't made the playoffs in going on 14 years that has already sold nearly 70,000 tickets after getting spanked the week previous...weather in the low 50s with a chance of rain. I expect the stands to be full. I don't understand how Miami sells out games and you see the stands about half-empty come game-time. I've been to Miami's stadium.
I'm just hoping that the Jets come out with a sense of urgency and play like they want to make the playoffs.
http://www.ganggreennation.com/2013/11/13/5100590/jets-vs-bills-robert-woods-officially-out robert woods is out. Not only that, but Stevie johnson might be too, AND EJ has been playing lousy, AND Spiller and the running game can't be relied on especially the way the jets have stopped the run, AND we're on extended rest.... well good god, this is as easy as its gonna get. if we lose it shouldn't be because their offense lit us up, that much is for certain.
Do you really want to have a discussion? Or just gloat? I thought gloating was reserved for Pats fans...... Congrats.....
I don't understand how the spread is staying at -1.5 with all these injuries to the Bills. They are going to have TJ Graham and Marquis Goodwin as their #1 and #2 WRs if Stevey J is ruled out. The Bills need to the run football and that is what the Jets stop the best.
The normal idea is that a home team is automatic 3 points, so the line is saying on a neutral site it would be Jets +1.5 The Jets just need to come out quick and can't let the Bills feel confident. Make Manuel have to throw on us to beat us. We contained Spiller and Jackson well minus one huge run last time. The other thing is that if we get a lead, it would be nice to see the offense keep clicking and just put the game away
No. If it was at neutral site the spread would be Jets -1.5 because you would take away the 3 points the Bills have for 'homefield'. If it was at Metlife it would be -4.5 for us getting the 3 point favorite.
