I disagree. It comes down to who wants Reed. Also, who Reed wants.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

We'll just have to wait and see what the outcome is.

Thank god none of you are the GM of this franchise, this isn't a win now team, it would be pointless to pickup Reed, he's got another year left, be a complete waste of money

Why does every decision have to be only if you are a win now team? Every team in this league is a win now team.

There are a bunch of reasons you sign a guy like this in our situation. We are in the hunt for the playoffs. We have a serious need at safety and Reed would be a perfect fit. Second, our current young talent pool could benefit greatly from a veteran talent like Reed. Not only are you adding his talent, but you are bringing him in to help develop the young guys. Having a veteran presence who has been around Rex's system for a long time is a HUGE positive.

There is so much benefit that would come out of this signing. Win now team? Every team in the NFL is looking to win now. We have a chance to make a run at the playoffs. Just because you are rebuilding your roster doesn't mean you shit away your chances of playoffs. So stupid

No guaranteed money next year, so it's just this year.

I think this is a no brainer signing. its going to be for a very modest amount of money. what's the downside?

    Just an official confirmation

The Jets are, in fact, showing interest in free-agent S Ed Reed, according to a league source. #Jets

Awesome :metal: I have a feeling that this is going to happen, which would be a huge benefit to an already very good defense.

Reed and Landry have already played together, Rex and him have a very strong mutual respect for each other, and it's an excellent secondary depth pick-up. Allen in the ROVER role as the third safety would make the Jets even more fun to watch, and even more challenging to play against.

    Sign this beast!!!

From what we hear on the radio here in LA teams that have shown real interest are: the Jets, NE and Dallas. All 3 have done proactive due diligence.
Real question for Reed will be were he wants to go, and I think more in line with which team has a better chance at the SB this year. Hope I'm wrong

I get we aren't "win-now" but you can't win unless you put the best team out there. We have a chance to make the playoffs... may as well add him if you can.

I'd like to see Reed with Allen.
