the bills are the favorite? huh... that home field advantage must go a long way considering their facing a tema thats already beaten them and their coming off a bad loss. their too busy losing their shit over EJ. check this out, skim through a few thread titles for a couple pages: http://boards.buffalobills.com/forumdisplay.php?4-General-Buffalo-Bills-Football and I thought we were bad with geno when he struggles...
Wow, I find that very surprising. Yisman, what spread will you be offering? Sent from my wey aye phone using Tapatalk - now Free
Post from a Bills Fan on their board...... "Bills should just lose out for a high draft pick. Season is over. Let's trot out our rookies, play hard, and build towards next year with Johnny Manziel as QB And for those opposed to Manziel, please don't give me this EJ Manuel future garbage. If we pass on Manziel, that's like passing on Joe Montana. Sounds like something OBD would do" Sounds like hope is lost over there.. And they are fucking delusional if they think Manziel is the answer.. I hope they do draft him so Wilkerson and Co could fucking destroy him.
Most of them are talking like Ej is the second coming of JP Losman. Not too much different than over here though... Geno plays good and we are all sucking his nuts but soon as he does bad get him on the next train out of here.
I'm surprised. They are 1.5 point favorites. Makes no sense at all, but hey, ya never know. The Jets seem to always struggle in the 2nd Bills game, but we'll see.
What just cracks me up is that there are fans of any franchise anywhere who say time to dump the QB we took with the 16th pick... people are so slow in the noggin' I swear. 1st round rookies get a 4 year contract usually with all of it guaranteed... EJ Manuel was an investment, it's like going to a broker, giving him $5,000 dollars to invest for you. Then you go back the next day and say where's my $10,000? Seriously people need to step away from the emotional moronic reactions and realize the Bills are stuck with EJ for a while, but it doesn't matter because honestly they are a good offseason away from contending. PS. The Bills might put in a claim for Ed Reed, if he plays well they could use DB help, and he would give the Bills some leverage against Jairus Byrd and his contract demands.
They aren't obligated to EJ at all.. Yea he was a first round pick, but those Sam Bradford/Matt Stafford days are over... You aren't shelling out 50 million guranteed for your first round QB anymore.. If EJ continues to struggle, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the Bills take a QB in the first round again.
I'm aware that the pay scale is nothing like those two, besides they were 1st overall guys. That does not change the fact that Manuel has played less than 6 games thus far, and you don't take a QB in the first half of the first round and then take another QB in the first half of the first round. You just don't. It's not like they have to start him all 4 years, but you give him some time to develop with the rookie head coach who drafted him. There are so many factors in play with a 1st round QB, and this notion of guys producing early is so recent it's making people forget what the normal pattern is for young QB's. The Bills should use that early 1st rounder to take a a hybrid edge rusher or outstanding O-linemen. Make their biggest free agent purchase a beast o-line guy, and figure out their secondary and the Bills will be contenders. Build the team around their young developing QB, don't talk about ridiculousness like taking two early 1st round QB's in a row.
If we take the field with Holmes, Winslow and Cumberland I think we win by two scores. I'll be all over the Jets +1.5
I've been making it a habit to visit other team's message boards during the week. The Bills forum is hysterical. Essentially mirrors ours (after a loss). On Rex getting intel from Rob "All he has to know is that we'll run the ball on 1st and 2nd down and then throw the ball to a receiver who is 6 yds short of the marker on 3rd down" "Also 90% of audibles are to a run and the read option is always a handoff " "Really? what intel do you need on us? we can't block, don't throw the ball down the field, and can't convert a 3rd down. other than that, we're fine"
^Holmes is expected to play but haven't heard about Cumberland. I'm tempted to pick the Jets in my suicide pool this week. It's either them, Arizona or Chargers. I think I'm feeling the Chargers.
Right, and the circumstances were different as well. Jimmy Clausen looked downright bad in his first year. Far far worse than EJ Manuel in his 6 starts. Edit: Double checked on wikipedia, Clausen only started 3 games before being benched, with 1 TD (to an RB) 3 picks and 4 fumbled snaps.
I just found out that Manuel doesn't have a QB coach. I only bring that up because its rather telling of just how different the approaches these two teams have towards their rookie QB's are, among other things anyway. Smith has Lee and now Garrard in his corner, whispering in his hear giving him sound advice. Manuel has an overworked OC and thats it. AND his favorite target is down. I was almost getting the scent of a trap game, this being in buffalo and all, but rattle him good and early and get ANY offense going from the start and this should be a snap. Ivory and Smith are key, they get going we win, because this isn't an offense thats gonna put up numbers against us at this point.
