The sky is the limit for this kid. I just hope this isn't the same shit we got from Sanchez. Show signs of greatness, then shit the bed.
Numbers actually compare nicely to Luck when considering Luck had Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton to throw to all year.
That's who I look at the most between all of them. Geno is very similar to luck, numbers wise, with a TON less talent
C'mon '68...it ain't over till he tells you to go fuck yourself and suck his balls. That's how lawyers give a summation.
Not that kind of lawyer, don't give summations. The last time I was in court was in mid 90s for the approval of the Caldors bankruptcy financing. I was there with Tom Wolfe for 2 days, he was researching some characters for his book A Man In Full. Pretty cool dude, and he came dressed in his full white regalia. Although I didn't like the book. _
The numbers do look good, but there is a notable exception that sticks out: the damn INTs. His INTs are noticeable higher than the others in both absolute and relative numbers. This concerns me because only some of this can be dismissed as lesser talent around him. Personally, I am hoping he turns into a latter day Testaverde. VT had huge numbers of INTs playing for rubbish teams but wasn't nearly as poor a judge of when to pass as that seemed to indicate. I think he was just trying to do too much on shitty teams. I could see this being the case here as well (in this case the Jets offense is shitty rather than the whole team like the Bucs of the '80s).
Lol, luck an Smith are nothing alike, now stop with the delusional comparison's, even worse the comparison's to Manning as well.
He said most similar to number wise with a ton less talent. If your going to be a condescending asshole, at least learn to read.
People who have the agenda that Smith sucks, was a bad pick, Jets are going to hell in a handbasket, etc, aren't going to stop taking every opportunity to run that agenda. That just is what it is.
Lol your right of course. I'm just happy to see him progress into a game manager for now, because the tools to be more are there if his decision making can continue to improve.
I'm glad to see the Jets going game manager late because it reduces the chances of Geno hitting the wall in December and having a few bad games there. This seems to happen to even the best prospects their first year a lot of the time. 16 games is a lot of games.
The late bye week is a blessing for Geno. It's a good chance to heal, refresh his mind and body, then review the half season of football he has already played. With a bunch of winnable games between us and the post season his limiting turn overs will be huge.
This isn't MM first rodeo with developing a rookie qb. I love what he is doing so far. The game plan, the attack, just everything. He's allowing him to grow in an offense and learn on the way. This bye will be the perfect thing for both of them. Sit down and evaluate the first half of the season, make changes, make little tweeks and push for a playoff appearance. We'll be getting some guys back on offense like Winslow that can really help out.
Was just looking at the league leaders at esp Geno is currently ranked 14th in the league for passing yards with 1,997. I don't know if the numbers reflects todays games as well so there's that. Anyway, our top rated receiver is Kerley at 76 with 347 yards. Next up is Hill(80th) with 340 and Cumberland and Holmes (115/117th) respectively with about about 250. Considering how banged the receiving core has been it's impressive that we could have 3 or 4 guys hitting 500 yards receiving. Geno is getting it done with whatever we throw out there. Unlike most folks I don't think we are completely devoid of talent in our receiving corps its just that we are running a-lot of 4/5 types out there. If we could get a legit #1 WR and TE and slide these guys down into their proper spots we could have something really nice. I'm hoping to see things play out like this: #1 WR #2 Holmes(if he'll take a big ass paycut)/somebody else if not #3 Kerley #4/5 Hill(until he can get himself straight) #5 Nelson/Salas (I like what I've seen from these guys in limited play #1 TE #2 Cumberland #3 Sudfeld :buffaloblows:
With Holmes and Winslow back into the mix I think MM is going to open the offense back up. Hopefully Geno can keep the TO's down and we see more of the attacking offense we saw earlier in the year with a better Run/Pass ratio.
I have faith it is.... But Not sure what signs of greatness your even talking about, the behind the back fumble or the two pick-6 in one game?
