Knicks down 10-14 early. Hoped Melo was on fire after hitting first two, but missed the next 2. The defense is bad, but not terrible. Rotations on point, second rotation a little slow. Knicks have gotten open looks, just missed them. I'll take those looks though
Down 18-17, Knicks initial pressure on D good but some scrambling. MWP and Melo working on the boards
12 made baskets for the Knicks, 8 assists. 26-22 point lead for the Knicks after 1. They went with Bargs at center for the whole quarter. MWP subbed in for Pablo midway through the 1st, only substitution. Offense is fun to watch, the defense has active hands but no interior prescense so far, but Bargs has a block!
51-47 Knicks asfter 2. Bargs having his best game in his short Knicks career. Knicks defense really bad in the 2nd Q, way too many fouls. Knicks need to bully into the paint a little
I'm happy that he's getting blocks more than points, we really need him to step up defensively with Tyson down.
Bobcats cut it down to 10. Metta hits a 3, THJ hits a 3, Pablo hits a 3. Up 19 now Melo after calling a team meeting also doing his part everywhere
Knicks bounce back from the Tyson injury with a win. Protecting the paint must get better, but they cut down on turnovers, took their open 3s, and swung the ball good. Melo and Bargs filled up the stat sheet.
A noon time game in NY against SA, a team full of veterans who know better than to go out and enjoy NYC on a Saturday night. And we JR smith returning for a noon time game after being in NYC on a Satruday night, so should be interesting. Pop will probably attack Melo and Bargs defensively and have a good game plan for punishing the Knicks in the paint without Chandler.
Rumos floating of Shump for Faried trade, would hate that. Isola also has a quote from an exec saying other teams value Iman much more than the Knicks seem to do.. I wonder why that is (Dolan is the answer)
SA getting everything they want with switches and hitting open shots. Knicks have had some open looks they missed, but Spurts have been shading and doubling Melo and the rotation has been quick by the Spurs to stop the open shot. Knicks countered by having Melo bring the ball up and being the creator by putting Diaw/Duncan in a PnR at the top of the arc.
Spurs D doing a good job forcing the ball out of Melo's hands. The Knicks lack of perimeter defense being expose by SA, and then their lack of interior prescense being exposed after that
Welp, Knicks D non existant, this isn't the bobcats they're playing. Gonna need the bench to cut into this 18 or 20 point lead with KMART anchoring the D. Melo might need to force some shots in the 2nd Q as wrong as that sounds.
42-21 SA early 2nd quarter. Spurs offense still clicking no matter who they put in. Might me some KMART or Cole Aldrich time at center
