http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3735/brad-smith is he worth bringing back or is Cribbs the new Smith?
Id still look at him, but ill be honest I havent seen much of Brad Smith since he left so I dont know how he is looking in 2013.
dont really need him, i guess. but i always have been a fan. his skills are amazing. but he doesn't really have a position...it's hard to spend a roster spot on a gadget player. and cribbs can do the same things.
He would be the biggest playmaking threat we have on the team. Assuming he is healthy and Holmes is not.
My first instinct on anyone that gets cut that isn't a clear salary dump is that there's a good reason they were cut. He's been pretty quiet since going to Buffalo so maybe they just don't think he's worth the dough. Do the Jets need him? Idk. I suppose Cribbs took over that role. But I wouldn't dismiss taking a look at him baring any injury-related stuff.
I would love to sign this guy. Yeah we have Cribbs but he is a different player than Cribbs. I don't love the Wildcat, but this guy is (or at least was) a playmaker.
Let's not forget he also plays WR, and we need WRs badly. Kerley might be out for a bit, so I don't think it would hurt. Cribbs plus Smith would be a nice WC duo too.
Absolutely... Brad Smith attempted TWO passes in Buffalo, and BOTH of them were intercepted. Anybody that thinks that he is a QB in any way, shape, or form is delusional. Besides that, why would the Jets need to run the Wildcat, which I am not a fan of? Geno Smith can run the ball too, if they want to go there. At least Geno can throw it too. The guy is a Special Teams player and maybe a 4th option at WR. That's about it IMO...nothing to get excited about.
Cribbs>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Brad Smith let Smith enjoy the 4 million a year the poor dumb Bills decided to hand him as a free agent to return kickoffs when 90 percent of kickoffs are now touchbacks No wonder that sad assed franchise and their addled owner Ralph Cheapo Wilson have been in the basement for nearly a decade
This is an odd thing to say as one is a above average slot receiver and the other a kick returner / gadget player.
That's what I was thinking, but he must be shot for them not to even invite him in for a look-see at this point. To bad, I really liked what Braylon brought and his passion for wanting to be here. As far as Cribbs goes, isn't there an issue with his knee that prevented the Jets from bringing him aboard earlier? If so, B Smith is a lesser player, but similar enough skill-set that if Cribbs goes down Smith could step right in...
