I've had an opinion about this for awhile. This is probably his best season with us period. I'm very surprised, and impressed. I wish he had tried this hard the past half decade. Obviously, he took his job for granted, and is playing 110% this year, and making a big difference too.

This thread has to be a joke right? This guy gets 1 on 1 oppurtunities in the pass rush constantly and gets stone walled most of the time. He misses a lot of tackles in the run game as well. He's lucky we have absolute shit depth at the position or he wouldn't even see the field.

I believe hes serviceable for now that Barnes is out, but this is a position on the other side of Q that must be addressed in the offseason.

Cal Pace opening up a vagina on Eli's forehead is enough to keep him on the team 30 more years!

he's playing Bryan Thomas' role this year and doing better than he did playing Calvin Pace's role last year. That's good enough for me

I would say his production this year has more to do with not being the only pass rush threat on the team. Lets be honest, Calvin Pace is not the first guy defenses worry about - so he gets some one on one time with TE's & Right Tackles. He also has the push from the inside that gets QB's "off their spot" and once they start moving they are easier targets.

I would say if the Jets could have found ANYONE in the past to help his production would have been better.

Not every position can have a superstar, Pace plays his role well. Better so this year than others, he sure seems to be "just getting on with it" quite well.

He's nothing more than a bandaid. Not a real fix for the position.

Calvin Pace has been a solid player for us for years now. Last year on a slow defense with a less dominant D line some of his lack of athleticism was put on display. With a D line full of studs, he is able to preform his role to a better degree as he has always been consistent and reliable. When you have studs throughout your defense guys like Calvin Pace can play their role.

Isn't Cal Pace where Kenny O'Brien came from?

this. pace is the type of solid nfl player you need on your team. hes not going to be the best on the team, but he is good enough that if others around him are performing he will rise to the occasion. nothing wrong with this type of player at all. he is a good linebacker and plays the complimentary role very well.

Probably true...I was mildly surprised that the Jets re-signed him.
