A lot of people dislike him, but the way the team is constructed, he's an important player. The real problem is if Tyson is out for an extended amount of time, season done unless Woodson changes his defensive strategy
Uh oh, Friday Night Knicks next game @Charlotte. IF Tyson can't go, you have to dress Cole Aldrich and use him and Kmart. I guess Amare too but he's not brining you defense. Can't let Bargs or Amare be a defensive anchor
Oh the silver lining is the Knicks knew to Xray Tyson immediately and say this, last year they either would not XRAY people right away or they wouldn't say they did and make it seem they weren't Xraying people. I don't know how an XRAY can be inconclusive, but we need Tyson healthy. Otherwise, I have no hope in the season. Him and Melo are the two most important players to this team
And I do hope the Knicks dancers get to dance, that story about Dolan shutting them down better be incorrect or be because all the Dancers are sick with the flu or something.
^Yeah I don't get how it can be inconclusive. What does that even mean? They probably didn't even xray him. Knicks medical staff <<<<< Jeez. This team is looking terrible. It's like amateur hour on offense and we have no interior D whatsoever. I really hope Chandler isn't majorly hurt, if so this team isn't going anywhere this year. Surprisingly we need JR back, although I'm not expecting much. Are they EVER going to stop switching on screens? It kills us every time, yet we do it constantly.
Jared Dubin @JADubin5 5h I'm getting repetitive, but green boxes = good, red boxes = bad. PITP = points in the paint. #s are per-48. http://twitpic.com/dk6nk2 This isn't all Bargs fault and all of Pablo's greatness, but it's hard to see why Woodson doesn't play Pablo more. And this Pablo trend carried over last year when him and Felton started and staggered their minutes together Instead of playing Melo who's trying to recover his shoulder 40+ minutes because we get down double digits, let's not get down digits and jump out to a hot start
Shumpert needs to start being more aggressive, he has star talent but not the aggressiveness to become one. Way to eager to defer to others on a team that's clearly having trouble getting good shots. Hardaway is really impressing me with his ability to drive to the basket and shoot the mid range jumper. Unfortunately his 3 pointer is laughable and needs a lot of work.
Knicks have all sorts of issues that can get sorted out...Right now they have a clutter of players and not enough playmakers. They look like they are still in preseason mode
Agreed, especially all the different lineups and rotations every night, they need to find chemistry sooner rather than later. They look like a bunch of individuals out on the court and not a team.
Chandler has a fractured fibula and will be out 4-6 weeks. Who is going to play defense for this team now? http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...4-6-weeks-with-non-displaced-fractured-fibula
Gotta play team defense, no more switching. What are everyones idea for starting lineup? I'm thinking Felton, Prigs, MWP, Melo, and Bargs or Felton, Shump, MWP, Melo, Bargs Also, Chris Smith as to be dropped for Ear Barron or Jason Collins or someone
Kevin McElroy @knickerbacker "Probably" going to be better off playing small rather than big. "It's been proven since I've been here" that the small lineup works. -Woody Kevin McElroy @knickerbacker "My tinkering with the lineup was to see how the big team would fare....We haven't had enough moments to get a true comparison." Kevin McElroy @knickerbacker "I'm probably gonna be forced to go back to small ball" given Chandler injury. The second tweet gets me, I'm pretty sure we know how the big lineup fares so far.
And, here we go again. It is impossible for the Knicks to ever keep their best players healthy. I don't know why, but every year we string a whole bunch of injuries together and get screwed. I expect Amare to be out before the end of November, followed soon by Martin and then maybe Felton or Prigs.
No Chandler for a month+ scares the shit out of me. Defense in the paint has been terrible as it is with him imagine now. Seems like our best bet now is to do like D'Antoni and just try to score 120 every night because there's no way in hell were stopping people.
There will have to be big minutes from Kenyon which i'm not sure if he can handle without getting banged up. Amare and Bargs are too soft to assume chandlers role. This injury will be tough, maybe a Marcus Camby signing wouldnt be a bad idea. J.R. returning will help with confidence and bench production.
So they have a player's meeting today, where Melo was trying to motivate everybody by talking about putting in more effort and other things. It's good that the players realize something needs to be fixed and took the initiative. But of course for the 10 entire minutes I was in the car today, I had to listen to Michael Kay whine about Melo saying the wrong things in the meeting and portraying them as lazy. Dude needs to shut the fuck up. Melo was being a leader and trying to rally the troops. I know Melo's been criticized in the past for not being enough of a leader, so it's just humerus to hear them nitpick now that he's doing exactly that. "Putting in a full effort" goes beyond just playing hard It means being more focused, trusting your team mates and playing team basketball. Kay is just nit picking, when in reality they are only 4 games into the season out of 82, playing without their #2 scorer, and they are still adjusting to one another. We will be playing small ball again, which was our most successful style last year. The Knicks will be just fine. Would Kay be bashing Lebron if the Heat lost Wade and they started 1-3 losing a few really close ones and did this? Not a chance, he'd be praised. Kay should be fired. Dude knows nothing except how to whine. Definition of Michael Kay: "Now, I'm not saying the Knicks have no chance or anything, I just don't see it happening! What I mean do you?" That's pretty much his outlook with everything except the Giants. He's still calculating how they can make the playoffs, while with Jets or Knicks the outlook is always cloudy, but it's not cuz he's a hater right? He just doesn't see the Jets winning more than 5 games this season. I mean, do you?
