Will go through the waiver system. I think we're pretty good at safety, but I know a lot of people here love him. Apparently a concussion put him on IR, but he's now healthy enough to play (which is the only way you can cut a player on IR). http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/11/04/jaguars-will-release-dwight-lowery-today/
Lowery Hey everybody. New poster here. I liked Lowery, too, as a ballhawk, but I got the impression Rex didn't think much of him as a tough tackler.
Hey Thanks-I'm proud to be a Jets fan on a day like today. I'll be wearing my Jets gear as much as I can the next two weeks. Beat the Bills!
I can't think of any reason to not pick him up, not like our secondary is loaded, we can use bodies and he can play corner and safety, he's familiar with the system, sign him
Hell yes!! Talented and knows this system. Of course you bring him in. This secondary is in dire need of help everywhere
I liked Lowery when he was here. He was starting to develop nicely at Safety during the 2010 season. We never should have got rid of him. I'd take him back and see what he's got. Landry is solid, Allen is decent in the right packages, Jarrett is a solid cover guy. No reason Lowery couldnt crack that rotation. He's very good in coverage and with all the quality tight ends in the league he would be a good guy to have.
Still don't understand why he was traded. Maybe he can help force some turnovers. He had a knack for creating turnovers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lowery would be a nice pickup! Rex wanted him to gain some weight before we let him go (which he has) and been playing safety ever since. He's always been a ballhawk. When I think of him, I think of the pick 6 he got off of Favre to seal that game against the vikes.
