I thought Cumberland was ruled out with a concussion earlier in the week but maybe I'm wrong. Would love to see Stephen Hill step up but we know that won't happen. Funny how training camp 2011 defense was supposed to be great because of all the sacks they were getting in practice. Turned out to be Wayne Hunter. 2012 D flying high but it turned out it was mostly due to shitty offensive play calling and skill positions. 2013 receivers look great turns out it was because of the shitty secondary and not Hill and Gates improving. I thought Cumberland was already ruled out? Yeah those 3 things are usually the keys to us winning, but it's even more true this week. I'd like to see Sudfeld get more than garbage snaps myself. He has more potential than Konrad. I heard that Drew Brees doesn't play nearly as well on the road, as at home. I think it was a CBS, or ESPN podcast. I know that should be obvious, but the fact it's a home game is huge. If it were on the road, I think we'd really be in for it.
Him and TE have been Rex's biggest problem on defense since day one. Those running backs that can run out like Sproles are a killer. If jets don't contain him early, the game will be over early for "us" Sent from my LG Optimus F3 using Tapatalk
http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6078 I guess he hasn't been ruled out yet afterall. Also, we contained Gio very well, so I'm not overly worried about Sproles.
Game Day an hour earlier than you think it is, in case you forget to Fall Back Leaving for the best tailgate in the world in 2 hours or so PUMPED!! GO JETS S T W!!!!!
I just hope Rex gets out of MM's way and lets Geno sling it. Those 2yd run plays are a joke. Also, maybe just maybe Rex will learn not to defer against a good offensive team.
I think this game will be more competitive than the Tennessee or Cincy games. I'm interested to see how we contain Sproles in the PR coverage and our LB/S in coverage on him. The Saints LOVE those wheel routes for their RB a couple times a game. Stills has impressed the last few games and Drew Brees distributes the ball to everyone and anyone. He does throw into tight coverage, so the DBs have to have their head on a swivel (Dee, Kyle, and Cro). Offensively, Geno is going to get pressured. Don't make mistakes. If this every other trend holds up, we'll be going into the bye with a winning record.
Actually the Jets are going to need to run the football to keep the clock moving and shorten the game and keep Brees on the sideline as much as possible. A number of incomplete passing (clock stopped) 3-and-outs will eventually have the defense gassed....from there the points will pile up.
We need to run the ball and mix some deep threat when they are all in the box. You cant get the safeties in the box if you dont run the ball. Geno cant beat the Saints with his arm alone he is just a rookie . Half pass ( more screens) ( occasional deep balls), half rush its key.
I see what you are saying, but we don't attack the edge with our running game and 2yd bursts make for lots of 3rd and longs. Hard to keep converting those. I just want to see Geno open up the running game by burning the secondary of the Saints. The Bears tried the running game against them and it didn't work.
