If you are 19 you were probably 3-4 years old when Parcells took over as coach.

That means that you are not old enough to have watched and remembered they years under Rich Kotite, Bruce Coslet, Joe Walton and the turnstile of 70s coaches (Lou Holtz, etc.).

What that means is that you do not remotely understand just how much losing the Jets have done since Superbowl III. When you watch your favorite team rip your heart out year after year for thirty or forty years it gets harder to shake off an individual loss when you are starting to wonder if they will ever win a Superbowl in your lifetime.

NO has the better QB but I think Cincy has more weapons.

So Andy Dalton is a better QB than Tom Brady? That's the logic I'm seeing in the OP. That's a bit simple minded, no match ups are the same. It was one game, there's no reason to automatically assume blowout because we're facing Brees. It will be Ryan vs Ryan. You know it's going to be interesting. I see the Jets keeping this one close and maybe even stealing it late. I like this matchup MUCH better than the Bengals.

Simpleminded is an accurate analysis of just about every sky is falling thread started shortly after every loss by a team that is already 4-4 in a season in which the same chicken littles predicted that team wouldn't win more than 3 for the year

    Pathetic, really.

After you've been a fan of this team for thirty years then come back and let us know. As for me, while I'm not nearly as negative as many on this board, it does tend to get discouraging at times. Even my wife, a recent convert to Jets fandom, has many times turned to me and said, "what is it with this team?". I am really not kidding either, she has said that. OTOH, we could be the Cardinals or the Lions. I've always had a soft spot for the Lions myself, so apparently I REALLY know how to pick a winner.

Playoff implications in fantasy football. Opponent has Brees i have NO defense.

    Fun fun.

Saints fan here. The Saints line has been sub-par this year in both run blocking and pass protection (18 sacks if I recall correctly), so the Jets should bring pressure. Now Brees is very good at stepping up in the pocket and getting rid of the ball, so you'd better have good coverage. I really don't know how solid your secondary has been.

My concern as a Saints fan is that you guys are at home and I expect a significantly improved effort from the Jets after last week's debacle. It'll be interesting (to me at least) to see Rob and Rex coach against each other.

By the way, I've hung out with Jets fans on a couple of occasions when they've been in New Orleans. Always have a good time.

Look, if the BILLS can hang around vs. the Saints, we certainly can. I think we have a much better chance in this game than vs. that terrifying Bengals defense.

The one thing you have to say about this team is that you never know what's going to happen. Not impossible that we stuff New Orleans but their offense looks too dynamic for the Jets. But if the D line plays great and forces turnovers plus the good Geno shows up and controls the ball and gets time of possession the way they did against Brady then we have a chance. Long drives, a good running game, no moronic passes to opponents or pick 6s. I'm not a big Rex fan, still mad about last season esp hs mantra: Mark gives us our best chance to win. But if he gets these guys to come out and play like a Jet then give him all of the credit in the world. An 8-8 season though looks like a reach.

Man this is our good week. We always play better after a lose. I predict a win this week.

I'm torn in fantasy right now. I have Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham and Colston all on one team. I also have Ivory and Kerley on the bench. A lot of bye players too, so this week might end up all Saints and Jets.

I have Colston too, I think he's done. Kenny Still, Nick Toon and Robert Meachem have been outperforming him. Seems to have lost a step.

Since you can't see what's right in front of you, let me help.

Rex will set his D to KILL Brees. 6-7 sacks minimum. Drew won't see the 60 min mark.

    Jets win in a laugher.
