Shame on Torts for wasting this kid's talent all last year, Hagelin makes a big difference even though Gloom and Doom Jonnyd doesn't agree...

I still outscored the rangers yesterday! i'm not sold on these guys whatsoever unfortunately. I hope they prove me wrong but I don't think I am, they're soft.

Kreider showed two years ago in the playoffs that he was something special. Then Torts for whatever reason decided to try to neuter him. I don't know what the deal was there but he was severely restricting him from playing well. This year, Kreider has been skating fast, playing physical, and giving an insane amount of effort to show what he's got. He may not have scored a ton yet, but it's just a matter of time before the goalies aren't able to stop everything.

Scoring will come, the effort is there every game, the physical play is very impressive, standing in front of the goaltender on the PP has made the PP more effective

The reason? That's easy.. He wouldn't drop down to the ice and block shots.

Torts inflicts his fear of failure, one mistake and back to Hartford

One of the two guys you mentioned is having a great season, while the other gave the puck away again about 4 times last night, like he does every night, I think it's time to bring Conor Allen or Mcilrath up...

Torts hasn't made the Canucks practice even once in the past 10 days. Did he ever go that easy on the Rangers?

The Canucks are 9-4 guys. We have played two good games all year and now its back to "Torts was an asshole" "Torts ruined Kreider". Complete nonsense.

When you guys fell in love with Kreider, who was his coach?

When Gaborik ( a genuine goal-scorer) was scoring 40 goals for the Rangers, who was his coach?

I like Kreider as much as the next guy and hopefully he continues this play but lets relax Jaywayne and others and lets make sure he can do it for a whole season. I hope he does.

Hagelin has no natural scoring ability as Ive said 30 times and he will never be a goal scorer. He doesn't make any one on the ice better by playing with him. He is fast. That's it.

MDZ has gone backwards. No doubt. I am still not ready to give up on him for reasons repeated ad nauseum...however, he needs to pick it up big time.

That's a fair point. Its also fair to note that we are on a pace to give up 1,657 goals this year.

they're about as soft a team as I can remember. Not only do they not hit a soul but theyre soft on the puck. See Steps, Zucc, Hagelin. You can blo won them and steal the puck.

---MR will translate this as me hating Steps by the way.

Steps hasn't played well at all, he's had 2 point blank shots fron in front the last 2 games and failed to bury both...Zucc has had a slow start, but I think you're offbase with Hags, his speed is an asset, playmakers don's have to bury the puck, he creates to's with his speed and forechecking

Till the broken bones come from blocking those shots...I wonder if the Sedin twins block shots?

its not like we put hags on the ice to neutralize other team's top lines. And we don't score when hes on th eice. Im not sure about how many TOs his speed creates but the the production simply is not there

Zuccarello might not hit, but there was not a loose puck on the ice that he wasn't after that whole game.

I'd still like to know why Kreider was so awful last year in the AHL during the lockout when Torts wasn't around.

Maybe, just maybe, he was a kid that made the jump directly from college into the playoffs and was playing on nothing but adrenaline. When he came down from that high, he was a raw first year pro trying to adjust to the shift-by-shift speed of pro hockey and struggled with that. Not surprising, he was a terrible freshman at BC and it took him about a year to figure it out there, too.

Torts' system here stifled creativity. It didn't stifle guys from playing aggressively and knowing where to be on the ice on a consistent shift-by-shift basis. Torts handled him as well as a coach possibly could have when being forced to play a raw kid by management.
