This Gordon guy is a loser. I hope the Jets don't trade for him. As painful as it is watching the scrub recievers currently on the team, it's worth it because they aren't going anywhere anyway. Re-evaluate after the season and get some actual reliable receivers in the draft or free agency. No need to take on someone's headache and in turn lose building blocks for the future - that's more important anyway.
You serious Clark? Gordon is 22 and one of the most talented young receivers in the league. Whatever building blocks you lose, you gain back immediately.
Except that he's fools gold. He's going to cost a pretty penny and he's not the type of talent this team needs long term. Get a hungry, selfless, more reliable receiver not some stoner looking for a payday so he can buy a lifetime of "not giving a shit anymore". He's Santonio Holmes with less of a resume. This move would be a move Tannenbaum would make, and that's why he's out of a job... If they were serious contenders in the AFC, it might* be worth the head ache. As we stand today though, it's not worth it. IMO.
I have no idea how someone can say that one of the most talented receivers in the league is someone that the Jets don't need long term. But whatever. I'll gladly give up a 3rd and 5th for him in a draft where we have multiple picks in multiple rounds.
I like Jordan Cameron or Josh Gordon either would make us one step closer to getting some type of offensive threat. Ok no Gordon we don't need another doper.
People put waaaaaay too much stock in draft picks. It's a friggin percentage lottery. There are no guarantees but a proven player is exactly that, you know what you are getting. That's why I have no issue giving up (certain) picks for a proven player, and on the flip, I hate losing proven players...
I would still give a 2nd for this guy, even though at this point it seems almost certain he's not going anywhere. It's the second round. You can wind up with Dorian Boose or David Harris. Nobody knows. BTW, the last 2 receivers taken by the Jets in 2nd round besides Hill? Alex Van Dyke and Ryan Yarborough. In 19 games, Josh Gordon has more catches (82-70), more yards (1387-710), and more TDs ((8-6) than both of those guys had combined for the entire careers.
Oh give me a break. A 22 year old smokes stop the presses. How many hungry selfless wide receivers are there out there. Its the most primadonna position in the NFL. He's one of the best receivers in the game at 22. I wish we were cursed with that kind of headache. Ellis who is an all time Jet favorite was a stoner too. Why today that would bother people is beyond me.

Ridiculous. We aren't going to win this year. We probably won't win next year. So why not get rid of players now that won't be helpful to us in two seasons anyway? Might as well replace them with younger players who could potentially be around for a while. This is how the Patriots run their team. There's a reason they are successful year after year after year. Tom Brady and 50 million draft picks each year.

It's not the specifically the weed thing. It's the whole package. He's also NOT "one of the best receivers in the game" unless your "one of" stretches to like 30th best. This guy got kicked out of two colleges and already his first NFL team is considering dumping him halfway through his second year... He's obviously got bigger issues than just liking the green. A guy like him is not someone to build around. He's a piece you add at the end, reluctantly, to get you over the top. The Jets are nowhere near that category.
do you watch this kid play? he's not a final piece to the puzzle guy, he's a building block. if he was in this years NFL draft he'd potentially be a top 10 pick
