Would be interesting for sure. That was a very strong team, perfect team for Alex Smith type QB basically. Limiting Geno might have benefited or might have not. He has thrown a lot more than Sanchez at this point of the season and who know if limiting him would have limited the mistakes. We probably do around the same with Geno.
Woah, some of you guys really need to back off on the attack. Even though I made this thread, I liked Sanchez and I like Geno thus far. I just think Geno is more complete of a player than Sanchez at this point. While both are pretty much equal in terms of ability to adapt to NFL defenses thus far, Geno's got better accuracy and mobility. However, there's no need to bring the contention from the other Sanchez / Geno threads into this thread.
He even had the wherewithal to use his own but instead of relying on Brandon Moore. A quick study indeed.
he is joking. it was perfect for mark, how many teams have we seen w/ more talent and in better spots not even make it that far? fans think you need 300 yd pass games to win, it's about making plays and he did that. it's unrealistic to ask a QB to score 30+ on the road in a title game and that game was 30-17 but could have been much worse as Indy eased up in the 4th trying to run out the clock. They dominated our D, we wouldn't have won if we had Joe Montana out there. I am going to assume this is also a joke.
i thought this was a geno smith thread? why are we talking about a guy who will never suit up in a jets uniform unless its for halloween?
A rookie Qb was not beating the Colts that year no matter what their names. Geno so far is very much like Sanchez mistake prone throws well in a clean pocket with limited reads. A fifth year Sanchez with MM is better QB than a rookie Geno Smith not really that hard to extrapolate pretty sound logic. The question is is Geno Smiths ceiling higher than Sanchez's? That remains to be seen if the Jets don't fuck it up like they did Sanchez and get the kid some weapons and keep a good OC he will have a chance to be a very productive QB. To be considered a better Jet QB tome than Sanchez he needs to take us to at least the AFCC better yet a Superbowl.
I think you're half right. The biggest reason why Sanchez failed isn't because of weapons or OC. It's because Sanchez mentally just couldn't take the next step. If Geno becomes good it's because he has the brains. But it also helps to have continuity with his teammates (oline, WR's, TE, RB) and coaches.
Wrong Tony Romo is 10 times the QB Sanchez will never be ( if you cant see that on the field i dunno what to say) and he didnt win a playoff game yet.
The Jets were considered to be 32 out of 32 and lucky to win 2 games by the experts and that was with Suckchez at the helm. Geno took over and has won 4 games. Who would have thought that we'd be in it at the bye, even if we lose to NO? I know that Suckchez fan boys do not recognize any other QB and only want their hero to be the Jets QB, but I doubt Sucky will be in the NFL next year after the Jets dump him unless a Canadian team needs a tight end.
If Geno was our QB instead of Sanchez Schotty would be compared to Bill Walsh. That's how shitty Sanchez was.
