It's not a skill question but a look question. Mike Tomlin looks like Omar Epps but Mike Tomlin is the better coach but Omar Epps still looks like him. Geno to me reminds me of Romo with how I explained. That doesn't me he is as skillfull as Romo, just that they way he plays the the game is similar.

 

So far we have Tom Brady, John Elway, Colin Kaepernick, Aaron Rodgers, among others.

I guess we are not watching the same games because I see a QB that has more turnovers than touchdowns and can not lead his team to two consecutive victories. I think many of you are putting Geno Smith far ahead of where he is right now as a NFL QB.

The best comparison I can think of (except that the other guy went #1 overall in the draft) is Vinny Testaverde. Vinny was in the league a long time, had a world of talent, and nearly brought this franchise to a Superbowl victory. Yet if you look closer at his performance and statisitics, Vinny was a gunslinger who always had his teams in the game in the second half but was very inconsistent for most of his career, made his share of bad decisions, and took a bit of time to reach his full potential.

When it comes to style Aaron Rodgers is a good comparison when it comes to both accuracy & mobility. However, the comparison only goes with style not execution. Rodgers is a dominant QB and should be in the conversation for best in NFL.

It's possible none of the young QBs playing today will achieve Aaron Rodgers dominance at QB & still be able to win championships.

 

I think the mix of Curtis Painter and Shawn King still holds water.......

I think the Jake Plummer one is a good one. Has a lot of confidence in his arm but can tuck it and run for a first down when need be. Isn't looking to run but has the vision and wheels to do so.
