I dont think he named the sources but its quite obvious who his source would be. He clearly is getting fed information because of his defense of Alex. Nothing wrong with that but its not like he had to work for information, he admitted that Alex called him over the summer to come on the show.

he will probably ignore the mlb game yesterday and today and what he would have usually freaked out about with the call last night in order to bash the jets.

i bet he doesnt bring the gm of atlanta in to waste time in order to not talk about hte jets tomorrow.

    Fair analysis so far.

1 complain though, he keeps saying if the Jets had the secondary they had last year they would be great, but then he continues to say that this is the difference of having revis and not having. Revis played in like what 9 quarters last season? this doesnt have much to do with Revis not playing, he barely played last year.

The difference was that cromartie was a beast last year, but is terrible this year.

Al last year the offense under sporano was inept, teams got the lead, and just ran the ball all day. Jets didn't face a lot of teams passing the ball with big leads. the ranking is nice but when you look at it it is also a result of lousy run defense.

Same way Tampa had a great run defense...well they had the leagues worst pass defense so why run?

I tried to explain that all offseason. Our D was nowhere near as good as their rankings. Opposing O's knew that basically as long as they didn't turn it over they would beat us so they played conservatively. Our D this year is light years better than last year.

    Light years?

    No. The secondary is dreadful.

it wasn't good last year either but masked. Our front 7 is so much better and it helps overcome the secondary in most weeks. Our D as a whole is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than a year ago.

Well this isnt based on any fact whatsoever.

The secondary lost Laron Landry and Cromartie's either playing injured or is finished. He was probably the teams MVP last season. Milliner has been abysmal.

The run defense is improved....great. Good teams know they dont have to run on this defense. You split the Jets out and you attack a terrible secondary. Dalton completed 19 passes yesterday for 320 yards and 5 touchdowns. That's pathetic.

landry was incredibly overrated. Our secondary last year was better but again against conservative offenses b/c our O was so bad but when opponents needed to score against us they did. We are on pace to see 100 more pass attempts this year than last year b/c our O can actually score.

The D was awful yesterday, it happens. The first really bad game of the year. We had bad games last year, 2011, 2010 and 2009 but this years D is the best since 2010.

Teams with depth at WR and a decent QB have been able to spread us out and attack our CB's. Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Tennessee have all made our secondary look bad. All three games have been losses.

Landry was a good player for us last year and obviously would be our starting safety. Dont care if he's overrated based on his draft slot, but he made plays for us and had a nose for the football.

Pitt and ten we lost b/c of our O turning it over. yesterday was on the D.

landry was good but vastly overrated- not based on his draft slot but based on what he actually did. he had some big hits, a nice INT at Miami but he got burned most of the year. We were very wise not to re-sign him.

The defense didnt play well in any of those losses. These are all team losses, but the secondary has been bad throughout the entire season. Cromartie has been terrible.

If we would have resigned Landry or not...comparing him to what we have now he'd be starting here.

Geno set up ten for 28 of their pts, the D could have held them to a FG or too but O was the main problem. the D wasn't great against Pitt but 2 RZ TOs didn't help. Yesterday was the first day the D was bad start to finish.

we downgraded at S but we upgraded in the front 7 to make up for it. Overall this year's D is much better than last year.

An upgraded front 7 is great. When teams neutralize it because the secondary is terrible is not. Different ways to skin a cat.
