People say it because his numbers are, in fact, facts.

And when he is horrible at his next stop you will continue to make excuses; it will be the organizations fault, or the coaches fault, and only if he played on yet a different team he would perform as you imagine he is able. Key word being imagine.

No I won't you jack ass. You people swear I'm the biggest Sanchez supporter and that I'll follow him everywhere he goes like tebot. I did not join to even discuss him. I joined to discuss revis holdout while searching for more info.

I think we get a 5th or 6th round pick at most for a healthy Sanchez, and that is with us agreeing to eat the majority of salary.

so in other words, we wouldn't really get shit....even with QB desperate teams out there. these radio shows are just looking for shit to talk about..

I'd be happy with a 7th. Anything at all to be honest.

if he was playing for us right now, we'd get nothing for him from other teams. They all know we'd be cutting him forthwith when the season ends!

The issue would be he would be the starting QB and we might have at least 1 more win - that first Pats game. I think it would be more of a problem for the front office with Sanchez playing well. Could you imagine you make the playoffs with Sanchez, he has a breakout year, and now the Geno pick looks like a waste and you are to pay Sanchez $$$.

Glad that isn't happening.. I do not doubt that Sanchez would have a good year under this new system... But we all would get enamored with him, and then next year he would fucking fail us like he always does.. Get rid of his ass..

and he doesn't win playoff games either.

actually that was his LR speech after we beat SD the next week:grin:

If he was healthy and starting we wouldn't want to trade him b/c we'd be wining with him.

Partially correct, trading Sanchez would only "accelerate" about 5 million that was his prorated bonus. None of his 2014 money was guaranteed.
If the Jets had cut or traded Sanchez prior to the season the total cap hit would have been just a tad over 17million. there is 4.8 Million in prorated bonus money for the seasons 2014-2016 and his cap hit for 2013 is 12.85 million.

had Sanchez stayed healthy and been traded during the season the trading team would have be responsible for the remaining portion of Sanchez's salary for the season and the 4.8 million would have accelerated to the Jets 2013 cap.

I won't speculate what compensation the Jets could have gotten for Sanchez but I would be surprised if they had gotten more than what Carson Palmer drew when he was traded, I think that was a 5th or 6th rounder, or was it a 6th and a 7th? Though Sanchez is younger so maybe a 4th, but I really see no way a team would have offered more than that for him and I find a 4th to be questionable given his propensity to turn the ball over and not being a big numbers QB.

if the guy built on 2011 where he was 27TD/17INT (32TD/26TO total) with a top tier red zone offense I don't think anyone would have a problem. I mean he is the co-owner of the jet record for TDs. Last year people look at say well he sucked -- the whole offense sucked. No running game, no pass catching option out of the backfield, everyone hurt, tebow...it was a mess.

The idea that Sanchez was good in 2011 based on those stats is a myth. The Jets were 8 and 5 in 2011 and lost 3 in a row. In those 3 losses Sanchez had 5 TD's and 7 INT's. He was awful and he was a key reason the Jets didn't make the playoffs in 2011.

The revisionist history of 2011 based on stats is nonsense.

As someone who has supported Sanchez this is 100% accurate. Even with the final numbers 2011 was not a good year.

Some of you are delusional, no one is taking his contract AND giving out a high draft pick. Maybe you can get a 5th for him. But teams would rather wait for us to cut him

he was awful but so was the D and everyone else.

2011 he had his best #s, 2010 he had his best season.

The hypothetical involved a playoff contender with a QB injury and a healthy Sanchez. He's not getting cut until AFTER the playoffs.

I know this subject has become verboten here, but of Sanchez doesn't get injured, this team has 5 wins at least, including week two....and Smith is a better option than matt flynn ever was, and TWO teams bought him.

And as for Schotty? AYFKM? Sschotty's crap offense is exactly what robbed us of the 5 overall pick, Sanchez would have to be a moron to play for him.

Odds are Sanchez does not get cut. He gets renogotiated.

Yeah, garrard, and simms are viable options.

You need to consider cap dollars at the position, plus the risk of injury.

    Simms, hostettler.
