Rex Ryan is a coach....he dances with the gal he's matched up with.....this time Marvin Lewis has he pretty girl....
After watching NFL rewind of the Bungles win over the Lions last Sunday, I am more confident of a Jet victory than I was prior Offense Not much of a running game at all....both Bernard and the lawfirm were pretty much stuffed by the Lions and the Cin OL seemed unable to open holes all day Passing game consists of the following AJ Green -- terrific receiver the rest (receivers and tight ends) not so much. Jones made a couple of good receptions but most of the rest of their passing offense consisted of Dalton dumping it off to Bernard Defense the run defense looks pretty stout most of the time. They were able to pretty much slow down Bush but might be susceptible to a more power running game (Ivory, Powell, Bohannan) like ours than the Detroit game with Reggie dancing around behind the line for about 2 seconds before attempting to move forward their pass defense is as weak as the Falcons or Patriot versions we have seen in two of the last three games. Stafford appears unable to put any sort of touch on the ball using only that semi sidearm line drive thing he throws which needs a Calvin Johnson to leap around in seven directions to make a catch. Geno has a much better, more controlled and accurate delivery and a very much better short game that the Jets should be able to exploit against the Bengals back defense. Special teams are about equal but Cribbs may be the best of the returners on the field for both teams. Nugent missed a 43 yarder FG.... I think the advantage may go to the Folk Hero I went into watching the game somewhat fearful, since I had heard from the media experts that Dalton had had a spectacular performance and was hot as a pistol Came out way more encouraged about the Jets chances to bring home a big fat W on the plane ride back
Cumberland may not play with a hamstring injury and if thats the case we're even more depleted offensively which doesn't seem possible! Is Powell even available this week? I know he got banged up last week.
RR is 3-0 vs Marvin with Crapchez at QB. I'll take the Jets coaching staff over Cincy any day. Cincy is much more talented though, and that's why they should win this game. I think it will be competitive, but am not expecting a win. Hope I'm wrong.
You're forgetting the 55 yarder Nuge hit to win it. Also the fact the you pointed out the dump offs to Gio after THAT game means you didn't watch closely. He only made 5 catches. Jones Eifert and Gresh each had 4 for more yardage and AJ had 6 for 155 and a TD. I don't know how you can ignore what Greshamn (outside of the penalties) and Eifert (WHAT a TD!) did for the offense that game. Dalton is great at spreading the wealth. This offense is starting to click and get really really dangerous. The Bengals also get second leading reciever from last year, slot man Andrew Hawkins back this week. He returned to practice yesterday. Also you fail to mention the Geno Smith and Stephen Hill are much much less threatening than Stafford and Megatron plus Bush.
Tennessee had touchdown drives of: 5 plays 18 yards TOUCHDOWN 6 plays 26 yards TOUCHDOWN 7 plays 46 yards TOUCHDOWN 21 of those 38 game on touchdowns that started inside the Jets territory. 2 of which were inside the 30 yardline. The 80 yard touchdown drive was a 77 yard touchdown where we got burned by a HORRIBLY thrown ball by Fitzpatrick and a little help from the ref to keep Washington up. That's 28 points on 4 ridiculous drives. Maybe if you watched the game a little closer you would see how they scored opposed to just seeing the 38 on the scoreboard. The Jets will not allow long drives that lead to touchdowns. If we can keep the chains rolling and keep control of the ball we will be in most games, with a very good chance to win. We shall see Sunday, but I am very confident that the Jets can win this game.
Getting blown out by the Titans is unjustifiable any way you put it. A good team would have won that game.
Game-by-game impact I did a quick Google search and I came up with this. The Jets had a turnover differential of -4 in that game. Superbowl bound, great, good, or bad. You turn the football over you will lose. That game vs the Titans was an anomaly. I would bet a pretty penny that if you have a -4 TO differential the winning percentage has to be ~1%. If you are basing your assumption of the Jets off of the game vs the Titans, then you are in for a rude awakening this Sunday. The key to this game is for both QBs to not turn the ball over. Whoever does less, will win. http://watercoolersportsnetwork.com/2013/06/18/impact-turnovers-winning-football-games/
No, I based it off beating the currently winless Bucs on a BS penatly, losing to the worst Steelers team in the last decade, getting blown out by the Titans, and only beating New England because of an AWFUL call. The Jets should be 2-5. Two blown calls equals two wins for the Jets. I'd be ashamed as a fan if that was the only way my team won games.
Your vocabulary isn't very good The trend is the Jets will play bad this game because Geno will struggle. The Bengals are coming off two last second wins also ,they haven't been dominating either but have looked more impressive than NYJ.
The Bengals also have beaten teams like the Packers, Lions and Steelers as well as beating the Patriots legitimately. The Jets have beaten nobody with a winning record outside of that bullshit win against the Pats. Geno will struggle with the pass rush and the Bengals will win by 10 plus.
Fair enough. Then you factor in home field advantage, a better record against a much tougher schedule and a more talented roster, then why are any Jets fans expecting a ten plus point victory for you guys? That's my question.
Bullshit win? We outgained them in yardage and manhandled them in the time of possession. Bullshit call or not we completely outplayed them in the box score. Look at the Bucs game as well, we outplayed them too, late call or not. Bengals have beaten talented teams, no qualms about that, but we'll see. All I know is Rex owns Marvin Lewis (3-0) since coming here. That counts for something.
Bellichick has owned Ryan and Lewis and lost to both. I'm less than concerned about the coaching matchup. Our coordinators make up for any flaws Marvin may have. You and me both know that had the Folk missed FG stood, Brady leads his team the twenty or so years they need for the winner. It was a bs win, stats non-withstanding. And regardless of dominating the box score, you still almost (and should've) lost to the second worst team in the league.
However losing to the Browns is something good teams do on a regular basis. They are Superbowl caliber. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk
