Thanks, I love the banter between opposing fans. Makes the game more fun. Feel welcome to come to the bengals.com forum to get a better feel for the Bengals fans as a whole. As far as the Bengals go; Offense-I think the offense is finally starting to live up to the hype. Andy Dalton got ripped apart after the letdown that was that Cleveland game, but other than that game he has been fantastic. The media will tell you differently, but watch a game for yourself. He makes good decisions and has a good arm, plus has showed some mobility in getting out of a collapsing pocket. His one big knock is the deep ball, which is hit or miss. He was short on one that would have been an AJ touchdown yesterday, but his bomb to Eifert was one of the best thrown balls I've seen out of ANY QB this season. Speaking of Eifert, the dude is a stud. Has incredible hands, strength and athleticism. We need to use him much more than we do. Gresham is an idiot, and is good for at least one drive killing penalty a game. He'll get your hopes up with incredible catches and running over groups of defenders, but he always regresses back. Its infuriating. AJ is the second best reciever in the NFL after Megatron, runs fantastic routes, is fluid, fast and stronger than he gets credit for. Gio is basically a young Darren Sproles, Sanu is a strong, physical receiver in the mold of a less experienced Anquan Boldin and Marvin Jones is a speedy guy who has really came a long way in the hands department and has been huge this season. The O Line has been fantastic ever since the Cleveland game. I feel as though that game was just a let down after a huge emotional comeback win vs GB. As far as the bad, Jay Gruden is inconsistent as a playcaller. We'll build a double digit lead, then run 3 times with BGJE and punt until the other team comes back on us. Speaking of BGJE, he sucks. Nothing more to be said about him. Gio needs more touches. Dalton has a tendency to lock onto AJ sometimes, which can lead to him getting swarmed. As I said earlier, Gresham is dumb as rocks and always good for a penalty. Defense- Pass rush is the best 4-3 pass rush in the NFL. They get after the QB with 4 guys, allowing the LBs to drop in coverage. Taylor Mays has been a savior at the nickle LB after Lamur got hurt. The CBs have been great outside of last game, but covering Megatron is a hard thing to do. The depth on the defensive side outside of LBs is great. I am worried about Geno's running ability though, because the two things the D struggles against are mobile QBs, and big receivers that can catch. All in all, I like where this team is headed. They could easily be 7-0, but need to stop letting teams hang around (Lions, Bills, Bears games). They will be tough to beat at home this Sunday. The Jets defense will keep them in it though. Here's to a good game, with no injuries or game breaking officiating!
I still don't know...I need to see injury reports etc...before I can make any type of call or guesstimate. We shall see....
Our Rex is indeed way better than your Marvin, though Make sure you show up Monday to offer your congrats and admit that your Bungles got whodeyed at home by a better team
Experts thought the Jets were the 32nd ranked team in the league. Experts thought we would not win more than 3-4 games. Experts thought we would get blown out by the Falcons and the Patriots. Experts referred to the Jets as a circus despite evidence to the contrary. I can go on and on. Thus, fuck an expert, my eyes tell me that this year JJ Watt is the best interior defensive lineman in the NFL followed by Big Mo. "Your Geno" can be anywhere you want following those 2.
WHODEY is gonna disappear forever from TGG after the Jets thump his Andy, his Geno, his Marvin, his entire Bungles team on Sunday
Are you guys still going to play "ROAR" by KATY PERRY when the Bengals take the field just like you did in your season-opener vs. Pittsburgh?? Yeah I get it, you're a small-market team and all (and all the bumpkin hokum that goes with it) but KATY PERRY??!!! Jeff Berding, Bengals Official: "The lyrics are sort of on-the-mark, and we thought it was a good song." Another Bengals official was quoted (by ESPN) as saying: "We still like the song. We are not ditching Katy Perry." But then you had to close it by being a sly little douche....
As a Bengal fan, my honest take on this game is that it should be at least a 10 point edge for Cincy based on better qb, better offensive weapons and home field advantage. After watching the Jets-Steelers replay I would compare Geno Smith to Thad Lewis. Both can run a little and both have good arms and can make a big play here and there, but both are inexperienced and inconsistent and tend to fold under pressure. Against an active, high pressure d-line like the Bengals possess, I see Smith struggling to make plays and keep his composure. Dalton has his share of weaknesses as well, but he has solid support and is hitting his stride in utilizing his arsenal of weapons. He understands his team's strength and weaknesses very well while Smith still must rely on his raw talent to compensate for the Jets offensive shortcomings. Calvin Johnson had a career day making spectacular catches against the Bengals which is the only reason the game with the Lions was close. Stafford took a beating the entire game, but somehow managed to come through and keep Detriot in the game. I don't see this happening with Smith. Still, this should be an entertaining game and I fully expect the Jets to give it their best shot. Bengals 28 Jets 17
The Bengals defense at home will represent a whole new challenge for Smith. I will be very surprised if Smith is the reason the Bengals don't play up to expectations in this one. Both teams are hungry, but Cincy is the better team and playing with great confidence. This game is tailor made for a big offensive showing from Andy Dalton and Co
 this guy is delusional the Sons of Anarchy are gonna destroy your ginger QB whole your Geno wont even lay a hand on our Geno
You lost right then and there. They play nothing alike. Another annoying black QB to black QB comparison.
The bold is a little off. All 4 of our wins have been had a 4th Q/OT drive led by Smith to win, including two coming down to last second FGs. Now if you mean actual pressure from the DL, it depends. You need to not only get pressure but stick the WRs and get them off the route. THat seems to be when Geno panics. I don't like the Detroit example because that's assuming Cincy comes out and plays exactly the same. I think the key is who can jump out to a quick 10 point or two possession lead. You force either QB to be 1 dimensional, I don't see them succeeding against either of our defenses. I'm worried about the Cro/Aj Green matchup, but I think we can confuse Dalton with Rex's defensive scheme to force him throw elsewhere. The other thing is that Dalton is used to seeing tough Ds from Pitt and BAL twice a year who Dalton and the Bengals are 3-6 under his career, but those 3 wins are the most recent mtachups vs BAL and PITT. The other key thing is if you can get the run game going which no team really has against us. If you do, you are going to really hurt our LBs and corners in play action. Right now Yahoo has you as 6.5 favorites over the Jets. I think that's appropriate. 3 of our wins have been walkoff FGs, but two have your wins have been that too. Our pattern says the Jets are going to lose, hopefully the Jets can shake that trend.
I won't argue with that assessment other than to say that Dalton is hitting his stride in terms of doing what he's most comfortable doing.
Dalton has definitely has had two really good games in row. After two subpar games, one where the Bengals win and one where they lost. If he keeps this recently type of play up, he's making that jump as a QB. We will see if he does, I hope he doesn't
Yep, I know what ya mean. Geno Smith is in the same boat it's just that Dalton is a little further toward the front. Still have to play the game though, right?
My last memory of Cincy is them being favored (highly favored by many), playing at home, against the Rex Ryan lead NY Jets in the 2009 playoffs. I can't remember the outcome of that game....maybe one of our Cincy guests remembers.
