Tj ward would be a hell of a sign but this is too costy for sure lol jets cant afford to give 2 or 3 draft picks.
That makes the Ward inclusion a realistic option. The new regime in Cleveland may not want to make Ward the kind of offer that would induce him to give up free agency. I'm guessing the Jets would want to talk to Ward before making that deal though. Find out what his price is to sign with them after the fact.
Cleveland would have to be pretty damn stupid to give up a young productive WR or S for anything that our team could offer but if they covet Kyle Wilson at all for some crazy reason it would obviously be a big coup to fleece them as teams have fleeced the Raiders for years. Not sure the institutional incompetence comes close to reaching those levels however so I'm still not holding my breath for any of this panning out.
The best thing I ever did was realize this rumor was horseshit about 2 seconds after I read it. It's WAY too good to be true.
Is there any report that Wilson is on the table for the deal or is that speculation? I would do Wilson, and a 3rd but the pick would have to be conditional regarding any suspensions. Wilson has become expendable with the depth in the secondary.
I have no links but my son tells me there are also rumors linking the Jets to Justin Blackmon which would make just as much sense as Gordon for the same reasons..maybe even more so in the case of Jacksonville. We will know if any of these are true in 5 days or less I guess.
(i) you are not talking about a third round pick - if that was the deal he wouldve been snapped up weeks ago (ii) yes you would pay your receiver a large contract but only 3 or so years down the line, once he has shown something, not now. (iii) he is a test away from a year long suspension according to all the reports.
This I would really like! Blackmon is a young kid with a VERY high upside. I think he is just being sucked into a losing system over in Jacksonville.
In theory, but in reality, there's no way I see that happenning*....... Yes he's a knucklehead, and they'd like to clean up their image, but He was just the #4 overall pick in the draft, and has returned from suspension on FIRE even with the garbage that is on that team. He's the only real playmaker / potential marquee player that team has left, and it would make sense to pair him with Teddy B (or whatever QB they draft) Plus the fans here would go NUTS...... nothing has been mentioned on the local news, but it's all been London BS this week anyway * I would approve though
There's plenty of teams/GMs that agree with you on Blackmon's upside. I think Jets would need to give up 1st rounder or multiple picks (including multiple 2nd rounder) to pry him off that roster. No way Jets are the only team knocking on their door inquiring how much Jags want for him.
That puts me off right there. If there were a trade the conditions would have to be ironclad to protect us. Just can't see this happening as nice as it would be. Hmm Josh 'Flash' Gordon a Jet
Go read the guy whose "Jets source" is behind it all. Don't believe it at all. Especially until someone reputable tweets it.
