I would trade the Revis 3th (even tho higher pick there is a risk of be 4th) and Wilson not our third
If I'm the Browns I'm taking that risk. That's why the Browns suck year in and year out. By that logic they'll never be good.
I hate Wilson, but he's serviceable as a nickel. Where'd you read this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
That's not entirely true. We need a true #1 WR, someone that can grow along with Geno. Our offense is desperate for a top tier playmaker at a skill position, and this kid is only 22. It's not really a quick fix but also addresses a huge need for this team going into the future. Obviously the down side is that he's not shown his maturity, and what he will be when he's given a big $ contract is a scary proposition, so I straddle the fence on this. The thing I think prevents us from making this move is our GM being in his first season. Can you imagine the backlash if this kid gets a big deal from us and we give up a player plus a high pick and he gets suspended I don't see our more conservative GM as taking a gamble like that.
We'd have him for two years after this year. We'd probably know by then if he's worth a big money contract.
Two pretty recent articles about Gordon: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/23/josh-gordon-trade-possible-not-probable/ Browns aren't completely dismissing the idea, saying it's possible, but not probable. http://tracking.si.com/2013/10/21/josh-gordon-trade-rumors-browns/ So three teams contacted them, two with a high pick and a player. Would a third rounder be considered a high pick? If so, signs point to us being one of those two teams.
Idk how I feel about this. I don't like him being the troublemaker he has been. Who has the veteran leadership on our team to make sure he behaves. However he is a real talent and if we could get him for Kyle Wilson and a fourth I'm all for it. However Wilson and a third is pushing it... I'd like to see us do our homework on this one and make sure he is going to stay out of trouble.
We don't know what the 2013 draft is going to look like WR wise. Draft grades change so much throughout the course of the NCAAF season. I'd trade for Gordon if all we had to give was a 3rd. If they want more i'd go after Nicks instead.
But Nicks is in his last year, is 3 years older, and isnt even playing as well as Gordon right now. Go get Gordon, if the price is a 2nd u do it because u would be foolish to think u could get a receiver of his caliber in the 2nd. Yes he has had his problems but the whole point of him being available is because he's had those problems.
As a Browns fan, I would MUCH rather keep Gordon with the risk of a 1-year suspension than take Kyle Wilson and a third-round pick. The guy has played at a 1,440-yard pace this season, and that's with Brian Hoyer and Brandon Weeden throwing him the ball. That's including the stinker of a game he had this past week in Green Bay. Wilson is not a difference-maker, and a 3rd round pick is an unknown. Browns would be dumb to do that deal IMO.
What do you mean Kyle Wilson isn't a difference maker, his pass interference penalties and getting burned for 3rd down conversions have turned many a game around:up:
LOL well he'd fit right in, the Browns are 29th in the league in 3rd down defense. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/downs/sort/thirdDownConvPct/position/defense Jets are #4!
Nick Barlotta @ NickBarlottaFN I am now hearing deal between Jets and Browns is very close to done..Jets have 2 picks on table.... Deal of course regarding josh Gordon... Nick Barlotta @ NickBarlottaFN Jets also trying to see what it would cost to get tj ward too I dont know at what the cost would be but these two signings would make me a happy camper
Uhm, every single article being released saying that there are 3 teams with offers on the table and that Cleveland hasn't decided if they want to trade him or not.
