Probably played the game of his life. Great job by him all game. Pick 6 was of course a huge part of the Jets win. Play gave them new life.

Posted the following during the Giants pre-season game back in August and boy did the bolded come to fruition today. There was a method to Rex's madness during the pre-season.

Antonio Allen was tremendous! A pick six, and he did a great job containing Gronkowski!

I was thinking of starting this thread but figured someone must have already done it, so props to the OP... Allen was outstanding today - really gutsy performance against one of the tougher guys in the league to match up against. Kid deserves a game ball!

I saw him when at S.Carolina & I was glad Jets grabbed him. Glad he's finally making some plays. I was getting worried. Jets Safeties should be Allen & Jarrett. A very nice combo. Allen could be a lil faster, but nice at LB in dime package coverage. At worst, he is a capable player for a while. Like Lowrey was.

Great overall game for Allen, but in addition imo the pick six was the key play of the game. While the Jet D held the Pats at the end of the first half, the reality was that the O was dragging after Smith's pick six, and the Jets were down by 11. Who knows what would have happened on the Pats drive but for Allen's pick?

    Definitely a game changer.

No time to rest on his laurels. He will have to replicate his performance 2 weeks from now against Jimmy Graham. Jermaine Gresham next week is no slouch either.

ditto! With him it was a matter of time to learn how to play the position. He surely has the talent!

Absolutely. Antonio Allen made a nice momentum-changing play vs. the Pats but to be honest, in coverage he hasn't been light's out. Not to 'darkside' this but Gronk also had a TD if he could've gotten his left arm up to catch that pass by the right pylon and Antonio on a 2nd and 10 (after Edelman's holding penalty) was called for holding giving NE a 1st down inside the red zone (which Ridley then ran in for a TD). And Jimmy Graham is a nightmare. Jumping an "out" route is one thing, hanging with a Jimmy Graham running a seam pattern full tilt is another.

    [
Nice strip by 'Q' on Brady to set up the Allen pick-6 by putting NE into a 2nd and 16 situation.

Projected by an in-the-box only as some, but he showed serious coverage skills during senior bowl week. He was one of my favorites that year, too. Actually I think my first post on this board was about Demario Davis and Allen post-draft. Really glad for them that they're showing well. Good picks for you guys.

Apparently, the coverage skills he showed during the Senior Bowl week was not enough to convince GMs he was worthy of high draft pick as he dropped all the way down to the 7th round. 4 months prior to the 2012 draft, I had him as a 3rd round pick for us in my mock => http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=70486. At that time I didn't know what he would test at, but based on the eye test, he looked like an early day pick and he still does now.

Talib was able to basically shut down Graham. Let's hope Allen can duplicate the performance.

Talib is a better athlete than Allen just as Graham is a better athlete than Gronk. So it will be tough. That said; I expect Allen to compete like he always does. He's not going to bend over backwards and take a pounding like some of our safeties may have in the past.

Yeah i still don't understand what happened with him. I had him as #56 overall going into the draft. Unfortunately, the forum I post on only has the draft forum open from the Superbowl to about three weeks after the draft, so you can't even search the entries. I had a couple misses but don't want to post it on here and drag out the thread.
