Don't turn the ball over and we can win every game.. its the same as it is every week. I am really nervous about stopping Bernard out of the backfield. Rex can definitely dial something up to confuse the Red Rifle
If we can get one win against the Bengals or Saints, we are in good shape going into the bye week. This will be the easier of the two, but will still be possibly the toughest game so far. Geno has trouble putting together two good games. I was really impressed with him today. Besides the pick 6, there wasn't much to criticize. He needs to play well for us to have a chance. Also AJ Green will be a very tough matchup. Cro bounced back this week, but next week will be much tougher.
Recipe is stop the run and contain AJ green, I think we have the DB's to match up against AJ. The question will be can we protect Geno from that agressive d line and can Ivory handle another 20+ carries and stay healthy.
We'll also have to contain their TE's, Eifert and Gresham are a pretty solid duo though Dalton isn't always great at getting it to them. Bernard scares me as well, really was hoping we'd draft him!
Bengals will obviously be favored so that means we have at least a decent chance of winning hahahha we lost to NE the first time, Titans the 2nd (it was a toss up), and Pitt the 3rd (we were favored). beat NE today (favored by all), Falcons (they were favored by most), Bills (toss up), and Bucs (LOL they were favored at that time)
Allow me to save half of the TGG posters the trouble: We can't win, we'll get blown out, nothing to see here. For the other half, with one of the best defenses in the NFL, with Chris Ivory punishing anyone in his path, with rookie Geno Smith getting better every week, with Milliner finally earning his keep, with Cumberland getting real 1st team reps, with the new kid Nelson whoever the fk he is, and with Ryan and Marty calling the plays, we have a better than shitty shot of hitting the bye-week and then the easy part of our schedule at 6-3.
Will be a very difficult game, might be the hardest game up to this point. Its on the road against a great defense.
Cro is going to have to shut down Green. Gresham is going to be a problem to cover. If we can shut their run game as we usually do to teams this year, we can force Dalton to win the game. Not sure if he can do that unless we help him out with ST blunders form us or turnovers offensively
aw man, is it time for another even numbered game? well this loss is gonna suck, on the other hand winning the ryan bowl at home should be a blast. dalton's a step down from ben and tommyboy, but aj green... shit I fear that guy. cro, mil, walls, and wilson have to contend with him? uh-oh... this looks like a loss, probably more so than the last 7 games I'd say. we have a fantastic amount of grit, but they have home field and paper to out talent us at every corner. shutting down their passing game is the key obviously, we may stand a chance if they can do even that.
We are going to get stomped. Bengals all twice the team the Pats are. Lots of weapons on O and defense to boot.
Oh and Cincy is playing much better at home than the road, so that's going against us too. I haven't seen much Cincy this year, but they are balanced team. You have to try and make Dalton beat us but at the same time the Cincy D is going to try to make Geno beat them. The WRs for us have to be on point in their route running and catching.
This could be a very tough game for Geno. The Bengals will hit him and try to confuse him. They did a number on Rodgers earlier this year. They can make any QB look bad. They have very good CBs and Geno will have a hard time throwing to WRs. This could be a very ugly offensive game for us. Hopefully Geno will not take the kind of beating that he took against Tennessee. Hopefully Powell will be back healthy and provide us some type of short passing game. This is a very bad match-up for us. The only positive I can see here is Cincy won a very tough game today and maybe they are ready for a letdown game.
On offense we have to play smart, turnover free, low-penalty football. Establish the run and, most importantly, move the pocket around so Geno has time to throw the ball. Lots of quick routes, dump-offs and screens to try and mitigate their rush. On defense we have to bottle up their run game, limit AJ Green to catches under 10-15 yards and be sure that Eifert and Gresham don't murder us on routes over the middle (this actually worries me most). It's gonna be a war won in the trenches.
The Jets are a magical mystery tour, you don't what to expect from them. There were a lot of surprises today in the game plan and play on the field. It looked to me like when the Jets were in the game Marty was afraid Geno might throw it away so he got very conservative. Same with Rex by playing 3 down linemen at the end of regulation time instead of putting more pressure on Brady. That's (to me) a formula for disaster but today it worked. So give them credit. But all season long you don't know what to expect with this team. But so far a very interesting season.
I don't see our OL being able to holdup against the the Bengals. Its one thing to give up pressure on the edge like the line did today where Geno can extend the play by stepping up in the pocket. But it can get ugly fast when the line gives up inside pressure as well. I am not optimistic for our offense against the Bengals D or for our D against Green and Gio. If one is looking for a potential ugly blowout game this is the one especially coming off such a big win.
