Hopefully Milliner has the right stuff. So far he hasn't shown it. On some plays I have seen superior coverage skills. And Richardson has shown it. Coples hasn't. The talent is there for both of those players. Maybe changing Coples position was not a good idea. He looked better last season, 2nd half of the season. PS one guy who to me is better this year than before in terms of coverage is Kyle Wilson.
he played a lot of slot CB in college, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him get some snaps inside as well.
Milliner cant even keep up with 3rd string wide receivers like Austin Collie. Theres no hope for this guy....
Agreed. Milliner clearly isn't ready for the NFL yet. He's still raw and unfortunately for him, brittle. He won't get better w/o playing time but he can't seem to stay on the field long enough to get the experience he needs. This pick might be a miss. We'll find out next year. Give the kid a mulligan for '13 but kick him in the ass in '14 if he's still brittle as stale toast.
I thought Milliner actually played pretty well today. There were definitely a few times where he gave too much of a cushion, and one play where he got turned around pretty bad (luckily it was just on a slant, so it didn't go for many yards) For the most part, he seemed to be in pretty good position and was getting his head around and locating the ball.
I wasn't impressed with him today but again he is a rookie who is dealing with injuries. I won't criticize him until next year.
He finally didn't look lost today but he gave up 2 steps on that Brady overthrown go route that would've been a dagger in the heart if he hit the guy in stride. Walls seems to be the best CB on the team so we'll be ok to cut Cro loose in a year or two as long as Milliner is an above average corner. I think his play is starting to show some potential but the injuries could definitely fuck us on this one. Can't really complain though with gold mines on Richardson Geno Davis Wilkerson Snacks Walls now Allen etc in the past 3 years. Other than The Milliner question mark the pieces are starting to fall in place. All of a sudden we can cover TE's with one player wtf is that?
Seems like he gets it for about two plays, then blows his coverage and his receiver goes for fifteen yards.
I think Cro has a really large cap number next year so you might be right. If Milliner can come along quicker than say, Kyle Wilson, we might be able to send Cro on his way for an additional DP or at the very least, dump his high cap number.
I thought he played bad today. He was never completely lost, but always a step behind. You can see he still needs to get more NFL time to get used to it
