Now I'm not saying this was the reason for the loss. I don't think it was However, how does the NFL explain scheduling the Jets coming off a Monday night game against a team that just got two weeks off? Do you think the league does this to their beloved Giants, Packers, Steelers, or Patriots? Seems kind of "off". We're not on a full week and we play a team on two weeks off? And we've already played that idiotic week 1/2 Tampa-NE Sunday to Thursday debacle. Is this good for the health of the Jets players? Two have two short weeks in the first 6 weeks of the schedule?
also they put us through this brutal 5 game stretch falcons MNF in atalanta, steelers, pats, cincy, saints damn...... atleast were still in it for wildcard were with a bunch of 3-3 teams if we can stay with the pack into our bye we got a chance for playoffs we got a lot easier 2nd half schedule
Not as bad as playing a Sunday night game against the Pats, followed by a Thursday night game against the Broncos.
Another way to look at the brutal stretch is that it puts the Jets in position to have a positive last month of the season and not have fire and brimstone raining down all around us in December.
I guarantee you every team in the league has fans that are crying about a brutal stretch somewhere in their schedule. For example, the Phins opened with Cleveland, Indy, Atl, NO, Balt, with 3 of the 5 away. Or that our sched ends with 4 out of the last 5 as divisional games. If i wanted to bitch about that I could but the reality is you play the schedule they give you and somewhere along the way there is going to be something that looks "unfair" when they have to schedule for 32 teams.
Personally, I think it's good to have a schedule like this because it will give us a better understanding how and where this team is at.
Seattle and St. Louis will be in the same situation in week 8. So will Chicago in week 9. The schedule makers were cruel enough to make the Patriots play Denver, arguably the best team in football, with a short week of preparation. I'd gladly give a winless opponent an extra week of preparation in exchange for that one extra day to prepare against Peyton. Anyone can convince themselves that the schedules are a result of favoritism if they try hard enough.
dont forget the refs hate us and the annoucers hate us and all that combined is why we lose to 0--5 teams
These are the types of threads that other fans look at and think Jets fans truly are assholes. Lame excuse. Shit like this happens all the time. Get over it. It's not a big deal.
^^^^^^^^^ This. But.......the announcers were homers and the refs hate the Jets, so the deck is stacked. How can the Jets win when the announcers continue to be mean to them?
My only gripe is that since the NFL has made it a point of emphasis to have Week 17 have divisional teams play one another, the Jets and Pats have NEVER faced each other in Week 17. Why? The Jets aren't a draw since any felt they would suck this year, why didn't they get the Pats week 17? Why play the Patsies in two meaningful games early in the year?
I believe Buffalo has four games this season against teams coming off a bye week. Jacksonville had back to back west coast games and stayed out west in between.
oh look, another retarded thread by Allan1....lemme guess Allan, we should take the schedule makers and rip their eyes out and stick bamboo under their fingetr nails before setting them on fire and killing their families
Seems pretty simple to me. There are at most 4 teams on a bye, yes? There are 2 teams that play on MNF. The bye teams shouldn't get that extra advantage ever. It's a 32 team league.
