Even Winslow deserves a nod...he was taken out of the game by the defense but he never quit. He kept grinding and got a nice TD catch.
we had 6 penalties. 3 of them of the completely inexcusable variety (2 for too many men on the filed and a offside on 3rd down). after comming 44 penalties in 4 weeks there is no excuse for something like too many men on the field, let alone doing it twice. thats just horrific coaching. hopefully there are some internal fines or penalties for that.
Marty Mornhinweg Because our play calling is not longer atrocious. Obnoxiously weird at times but just proved itself very effective tonight. Who's idea was Sparano to follow Schottenheimer anyway? Mind was blown when that happened.
props to brian winters. thought he played really well. outside of being beat on that one sack, he was pretty good for his first start. certainly ahead of were ducasse was at this point
David Harris deserves special mention because of the amount of hate he drew in the offseason for his one subpar year last year and his contract. The guy has been an absolute beast this season, and today was a real highlight on that fact.
This was a complete team win. Each phase picked the team up after another had a rough patch. Punt return by Kerley, kick by Folk. Turnover forced by Mo, goal line stand. Three crisp TD drives by the offense. It's a good feeling seeing the entire team contribute.
You are eating crow.... you should see my preseason prediction for this game. I'll be eating it for the next week.
I'm pretty sure that Winters wasn't entirely at fault there. I think Mangold should have helped out. On a side note: Brick got badly beaten a couple of times.
Agree w/all the Kudos but Ellis had a great game also especially on the Goal Line stand which turned out to be the difference in the game.
Not necessarily game balls, but people who impressed me... QB Geno Smith - Need I say more? He was fantastic. Every running back. Powell is playing as well as the people who liked him at draft time thought he could. Ivory showed flashes when he finally wasn't hit behind the line of scrimmage. And Goodson showed flashes in his first time as a Jet. Really curious to see how his role develops. Hill/Cumberland - Jury is still out on both, but Cumberland showed he can be a receiving tight end to go with whoever we get to replace Winslow next year. Hill's two big catches down the stretch were huge. And he's only 22 years old. Jeremy Kerley - Had some nice catches. Liked his nose for the end zone on his touchdown. Even had a good punt return for once. Had a nice catch on the final drive, too. Mo Wilkerson/Kenrick Ellis/Sheldon Richardson - All played great tonight. I expect it from Wilkerson. I expect it from Richardson, too, which is impressive for a guy in his 5th game. Ellis, I expect flashes from, and he showed flashes of absolute dominance tonight. Darrin Walls - Had his hands around a lot of balls on defense. Thought he played well for a mostly unproven guy. I like his talent. Just wish he could have grabbed that interception early and taken it to the house! Nick Folk - Obviously
I assume he's going to get destroyed by a real DL but at least he didn't get 4 penalties and he still has to prove that he can't hack it. Need help at G next year.
I really like Cumberland and can't really remember him doing too many bad things. This season he has been nothing short of solid. Hes one big dude to bring down
