you have to run it for balance. even if you do not gain a lot you have to balance your attack. any running play can break, so a D has to show some respect. so you run it on running downs, probably 40% or more, even if your running attack stinks

Still a little early for me to say this. Overall, I don't think MM called a bad game in week 1 or anything, but his usage of the wildcat in certain situations seemed questionable. I need to see more from the ground game as well. I think he'll do a good of getting the most out of Geno and the passing game.

I'm betting the wildcat calls were Rex's idea.

The pass offense looks much better than it has in years.

I agree. No wildcat when the QB is just starting to get hot. He who shall not be named did that all last season with sanchez...Hopefully they won't make it a regular thing this year with Geno.

Marty called a great game. I like the thought on the wild cat that it takes Geno out of the moment for second. Like it might interrupt a veteran QB perhaps it helps an inexperienced guy to just really take a play off.

You can tell there is chemistry between Marty and Geno...Geno wants to learn from Marty and master this west coast offense. I mean this is not a gimmick offense. Sanchez would need 8 different colors to master the plays

The game winning drive was a perfect example of the WCO clicking. Its going to take a while to learn but that was impressive at the end.

Loved the play-calling. So much more creative and diverse than we're used to. I keep thinking that he should run a little more but I think I'd be wiser not to second guess him. :)

Geno loves to study it appears and is a sponge soaking up knowledge from one of the better OCs in the league. We got a nice QB coach in David Lee.

They are a great match, it was evident when Marty saw Geno for the first time during the draft process.

As much as I love Marty he blew the NE game by going away from the run. That being said, I love Marty!

They're all learning the offense still man...It's something the personnel needs to get acclimated to. I really am looking forward to the rematch.

He's the best OC the Jets have had since Charlie Weis.

I agree. It's great to finally have a real OC and a real QB coach on the team. It will make all the difference in the world in the long run.

I agree with the OP, Marty WAS the most important / best acquisition of the offseason.
