Geno was cool as ice (anti-Matt Ryan pun) tonight, especially on that game-winning drive. Damn impressive bounce back game tonight.
They did do a somewhat conservative game plan but the limiting of his throws was because the Jets only ran 46 plays on offense. I liked the play calls except that 2nd and 4. That one gave me chills when I saw the back go in motion, tipping a pass.
Geno showed that poise and excellent execution ability...Mental toughness is way above our prior QB. Get in, folks. Glad the national audience saw Geno perform
impressive game, not without its blips (never saw the Osi sacks coming) but damn clutch, for the second time this year.
is it just me or does rex seem to avoid directly praising geno smith? every question about geno he says team this receivers that rbs this and never directly praises him. then they ask about mo wilk and he gushes over him. a little annoying
2nd rookie EVER to win on the road on MNF. Phenomenal game from beginning to end. When the kid has time, he's deadly. Lets go!!!!!
Oh thanks for bringing that up, I didn't notice it was so little. So only 26 runs to 20 passes, sounds a little more run orientated than MM is used to, but % wise still a ton of throws if scaled up.
Oh, and Geno is getting a ton of yards on his passes. I don't know what the rookie record for YPA is but Geno has to be close. Probably RGIII last year.
Talk about a bounce back performance. Geno played a hell of a game, and icing "Matty Ice" is something I'm not soon to forget. It's fun to watch the Jets win a well played game, let's do this more often.
Clear product of the Air Raid system. Screw him and Foles and even Weeden for their under/barely over 200 yard games. Bubble screens inflated his completion percentages, Geno is a product of the system.
Poise Execution Confidence Clutch Determination Composure Leadership Overcomes Adversity Ability Mental Toughness Geno Smith.
Great effort from him, it was the game we were waiting for him to have all September. Tonight he was straight cash, homey. Awesome.
Awesome performance by Geno. That touch TD pass to Winslow was awesome to see. Clutch at the end there too. I hope he continues to improve. It looks like Mornhinweg might be finding the right balance to get Geno into rhythm. One area of improvement just based on what I was seeing (no in depth analysis) is to step up in the pocket at times when it's there. On that 2nd and 4 that seemed to be much debated, I was expecting him to step up into what looked like a reasonably clean pocket from that angle as he was bouncing on the spot there.
Can we stop talking about QBs in next year's draft now? Lets give the kid a season to show what he has before writing him off. The prior two pages are an embarrassment to Jets fans, talking about QBs to draft in week five.
