It's more of just a WrestleMania thing. Usually a finisher means in the end unless it's weak ones like Rock Bottom.
I agree. Back in the day, people very rarely kicked out of finishing moves. These days it seems to happen much more often. They aren't selling the finishing moves to be the devastating moves they use to be. To me it lessens the value of the entertainment. Back in the 80s, when did anybody ever kick out of the Hogan leg drop? I know it happens from time to time in the attitude era, but it was usually only when the other guy took a long time to make the cover.
It's what happens when you buy out the competition and have no story to sell anymore. When you lack an icon such as Hogan or Savage or even The Rock at the height pre movies it becomes uninteresting. I watched the WWF/ECW/WCW well into my 20's and eventually I just got bored with the same recycled characters like HHH and Undertaker. The new guys didn't have any appeal and there was no other place to turn. I tried to watch Raw about a year ago and the matches sucked, there were about 3 of them and they sucked, it was all story which also sucked. Whether McMahon wants to admit ot or not the best thing that ever happened to Raw was Nitro. Without Nitro Raw will continue to suck.

They finally realized he wasn't as good of a face, as a heel. He had lost plenty momentum, and honestly Ziggler has had more of a pop on a night to night basis, ESPECIALLY when he cashed in the briefcase. Youtube it if you missed that. So at the last ppv, and the following Raw, they completed the heel turn for Del Rio, and officially gave up on Ziggler being a heel, and let him turn face. It was the right move, and I'm glad they did it because I've been a big Ziggler supporter before he got over. Now they have the McMahon family angle, and things are getting interesting again.
Yeah I wasn't a fan of his even a little until about 2 years ago. It's not that he grew on me, he just really got better.
Does nobody but me watch WWE anymore? The Rhodes angle truly is great. I'm very happy they're going more, and more with real life things now than in the past. An example can be the Bryan/Bella engagement.
The product since the Money in the Bank PPV is the best its been in about three or four years. Flat out. The feud's are engaging, the superstars are over...it had gotten so bad not only did I not go to WM in my own backyard, but I had stopped watching entirely. Well, I'm back!
I only watch Raw, and I usually skim past most of it, but it beats not watching it at all like I was getting used to. Even though they're heels, it's nice to see HHH, and Steph every week.
It still DVR's for me, but I have a hard time watching it each week. I am glad you guys think it is good, I find it terrible. Bryan-Orton storyline has been the same for months. In fact, I can't believe the fans still go nuts for Bryan, it is that repetitive. Worst of all: CM Punk being wasted week after week with this terrible Heyman storyline. He needs to be main eventing and holding the belt right now, with Cena out.
CM Punk QUITS WWE this week. Big loss for the company. It really is at one of it's low points that I can ever remember right now. Unwatchable.
