I agree but that doesn't mean his veteran presence and knowledge of the defense is not a value a young secondary this year.
Walls looked like a backup against the Titans. Did not impress me at all. I really liked what he did when he played in pre-season and on the field in spots before the start. Just not ready.
Our secondary is a big problem on D. Expect to see it get exposed as we face some high octane passing attacks coming up (Falcons, Saints). Even Cro's level of play has slipped. But the word is out after yesterday, we can be beat on the back end of our D, and you don't need a star receiver to do it
NewYorkEveryThing I'm not stalking you  Wilson can't turn his flipping head, Walls is glued to the floor. 2014 - time to go complete overhaul on our secondary
I know.. That is why my opinion is that walls should play the shorter WR and Cro should have covered Hunter on that TD.
Rex: Hey Cro! Never mind the game situation, defensive alignment or on-field call! Cover the taller receiver! Go be tall, Cro!
Oh you meant after the receiver made the catch and came down with it. Forgive me for thinking quality corners make plays on the ball before or at least the same time as the receiver. Why deflect the pass when you can wait and watch as they catch it and then hope you can smack it fromt heir hands as they fallt ot he ground.........
Whenever I read a really dumb-ass comment I glance over at the 'Join Date' and it's always like 2011 or later. It spiked in 2012 but that's a diff thread.
You people are pathetic, That TD pass that walls was 'burnt' on was an excellent pass and catch..Walls blanketed the WR!! Basing the rooky (Milner) and a player (Walls) that has played barely 11 games, mostly as backup, in just 4 games??? C'mon..amazing how you all can accentuate the negatives around here....if Geno 'the great' hadn't turn the ball over 4 times resulting in 24 points, we would n't be having these lame conversations about the defense faltering.
yes, probably a 17 year old that was born as a know it all..and has to grace us with his expertise.. we are blessed
I personally thought Walls played well considering it's his first start. I'm waiting for coaches film to be released to get a better look, but that TD throw seemed like a ball where only the receiver could make a play on it using his superior height. Unfortunately you can't teach size. I personally think Walls can be a starter caliber CB. What his ceiling is it's too early to tell, but I hope he becomes every bit the film junkie Revis was. That's what separates the great and elite CBs, that anticipation.
Yeah im dumb..... Original join date for me would be 09. My apologies for being a jet fan before becoming an "online" jets fan. PS I'm 38 and regardless of your thoughts on my opinion walls sucked in atl and will continue to blow play after play here. Quality corners make plays for the ball before the receiver already has both hand son it. Walls never even attempted to leave his feet. Even my 20 year old knows when you play end zone coverage it is a must for your body to be between the ball and the receiver, not behind the recieiver . This idoit actually tried to push him from behind into the football and when he failed at tht tried to reach in front of him as he was falling. This man had one decent game vs starters and everyone thinks he should be a permanent starter. Yet im the one being called dumb?
I have children older then that like i said before walls was trash in atl and will continue to be trash here. Did you even watch the game? he back peddled the whole play till they hit the endzone and never made an attempt to get in between the receiver and the ball. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2013092908/2013/REG4/jets@titans#tab=recap&menu=highlights Hmm seams Deon Sanders is also dumb? Watch the replay and stop posting
another case of 'broken neck'. Rex and Dennis need to get on Tim McDonalds back with this. How many turnovers does our secondary have? Given the amount of time they atr on the field as well, terrible
How did you want him to make a play without getting a PI called. It was only where the receiver could get it.
Are you serious? So your saying back peddling behind the receiver 5-6 yards into the endzone hand checking him directly from behind is the proper way to play redzone/endzone defense as a Db? The receiver basically ran the sideline the whole play as a defensive back you DO NOT play this from behind once with in 5 yards of that end zone. His positioning should have changed from back peddling to side coverage giving him proper position to make a play on the ball. This not only would have given him coverage position but also would have given enough physical position for a body check out of bounds simply by extending a hand for the ball. You think Walls doesnt know he has no vertical? If you lack certain athletic abilities you need to play to your strengths walls has NEVER done this. I will repeat this one more time. YOU NEVER PLAY ENDZONE MAN COVERAGE FROM BEHIND EVER. When you add in the size disadvantage he was against this is death to corners. Also to quote deon sanders. Once he realized he was beat GRAB A GOD DAMN ARM
