Because he was one dimensional and not even that good at it. Shitty hands and no ability to carry the load when needed (in emergency situations).

    Much happier with Bohanon...

What an awful pick he was. Just plain awful. Like we had the luxury of using adraft pick on a guy who could do one tiny little itty bitty thing on a football field. Oonce in a while.

Does it matter? Fullbacks are almost like kickers.

Connor was a big bruiser. But he wasnt a good pass protector and was very slow to the hole if I remember correctly.

Quick FB plays for a yard would always get stopped. All in all, he wasnt that good.

I too am on the Tommy Bohannon is a beast bandwagon.

They are very useful on the FB dive on 3rd and 1 in madden. And great on goaline.Bohannon finished the season with 7 rushing tds for me.But in the real NFL the Fullback is very useful in the I formation if he can block witch Connor cant. The only reason Giants signef him is becausr Hynoski is on IR and they have no choice

agreed plus he is faster and stronger. The Terminator was a decent blocker in practice. but in the real games he was JAG.

Fullback has too little relevance to an effective NFL offense to spend a roster spot on. He wasn't an H-back, he was a pure fullback. And he wasn't even really all that good at fullback.

Bohanon has the potential to do more than just line up in the backfield and block. That's why he has value.

Having kickoffs being phased out and the wedge slowly removed from play didn't help either. No need for wedge busters in today's NFL.

^This was the reason for his release. But Bohanon is more versatile.

When you are a power run team. Having a human bludgeon lead the way for your RB is the perfect compliment. The Jets were such a dominant running team that we carries TWO fullbacks in 2010 - TRich & Conner. And both were used, albeit the vet was given the majority of the snaps.

Now that we are moving toward an attacking through-the-air offense with Morningwood, carrying 2 FBs is a luxury we can't afford. Having an FB that has better hands and can play ST trumps the human battering ram.

To add I believe Bohanon has had a reception in each of our games this season. He can be another safety valve for Geno, especially when the defense is sending the kitchen sink at the offense.

Connor really only had that one big blow up play in Hard Knocks.

This is why we let the GM pick the players in the draft, not Rex.

Just a cool name. He was an average FB.

Hard to call a 5th round pick a "reach" but Connor probably could have been had as a UDFA. He's pretty one dimensional.

Selecting Bohannon is going to turn out to be a solid value. That pick had Marty's influence all over it.
