stop, we haven't done anything yet. we were 2-1 last year w/ more impressive wins than the 2 we have this year and we ended up 6-10. we have a long way to go.

Manish is just another trend follower. It was the hot trend to make fun of the Jets during the off season, so that was his mantra and he really took it to the extreme. Now that they have a chance to start 3-1, it's kind of hard to keep dogging them if you want people to take you seriously (I'm sure many still don't).

The last thing the Giants fans want to read about now is articles about how bad the Jets are. I think these beat writers just battle for control of NY football fans. It is split between Giants and Jets. A large portion of them dislike the other team. It's a game of pitting one team's fans against the other's. When the Jets are choking, Giants fans enjoy reading and clicking on articles making fun of them and vice versa. This must be why the media is always so harsh on them both and really kick em while they are down. Can't believe I just realized this now. The Jets do get more hate, but it may just be because they have slightly more fans, therefor more people to enjoy Jets hate.

You're starting threads about Manish when what he needs is the silent treatment. By starting threads about him, you're encouraging people to read his sh*t. You do realize this, yes? Instead of learning to ignore him completely, You've decided to go ahead and increase his readership.

It doesn't matter if you start a thread with the intention of making Manish look dumb. Just by starting the thread, you're helping this "anti-journalist" to increase hits on his articles. Silent treatment is really the only way to go with this guy, but sadly, Jets fans still don't realize this and they let themselves get caught up in his seesaw "journalism".

This. We are 2-1 with one game (Tampa) literally gifted to us on a stupid ass, unnecessary penalty.

We also have a mind numbing 20 penalty game where we lost the turnover battle, yet won, and suddenly we are a 10-12 win team.

Let's take it a game at a time, continue to be competitive, hope for the best and maybe we have a franchise QB for the first time in forever.

Tons of room for optimism, but let's not get crazy.

Manish Mehta makes unwarranted, outlandish, overreaction statements in an attempt to garner headlines with everything that he writes. And somewhat to his credit, it does work. He gets people to cite him by saying things that sound like end-all-be-all statements but really are irrational. His "opinion" on the team (or should I say, the opinion which he is willing to share with the public) will always vary on a play by play, game by game basis. That's just how the media is, especially in New York. Accuracy or consistency isn't important as long as you're making headlines.

You defend Sanchez with the same blindness. There is a LOT more to this story than win = good press, lose = bad press.

These next two weeks will tell us most of what we need to know. But honestly, the first month of the season and the draft are the two times a year people jump to conclusions and make extremely premature predictions. So it doesn't surprise me to see people react this way... remember when the Bills started off a season 3-0 or 4-0 or something with a big win over the Pats and ended the season with 6 or 7 wins? It's nothing new with the NFL, everybody is all in on the Phins, Bears, and Chiefs too.

Far too simplistic. I'm talking about the good play from various units, not just the wins and losses.

This team doesn't resemble last year's in many respects at all.

Yeah, reports what he sees; as opposed to fitting everything that happens into his predetermined narrative.
