I loved Mark. After he took the illegal hit to the helmet against Pittsburgh he was never the same. Something rattled around in his head and never went back to the right place. I hope he has a good career beyond this year but I can't wait until this thread is closed. It's Geno's turn.
I throw away 2012 as well. We surrounded him with garbage and had the worst OC in the league coaching. Someone who will never get an OC job again as long as he is alive. Tom Brady would have failed in last years offense. There is such a thing as setting somebody up to fail. So while I will defend Sanchez for last year I'm happy he wont be starting for us again. He will get another chance with another team to start eventually.
If Sanchez can get a throw away year then so should Rex and Sparano and anybody else you wanna mention.
Whats the problem? When I evaluate Tom Brady I throw out Tom Brady's 2007 when he had elite talent/coaching. I wouldn't expect you guys to get it. Average fans gonna average fan.
I can b/c of the circumstances. Bring in Sparano as OC bring in tebow as distraction brand new offense keller hurt most of year loses Holmes in week 4 Chaz Schilens ends up starting good chunk of year taking over for raw rookie who wasn't ready That was his ONLY bad season and the circumstances dictated that bad year. we'd be 3-0 w/o a sweat.
Did the circumstances affect his accuracy, him looking onto one receiver, bad pocket presence, bad decision making etc?
YES. When you go out on the field w/o confidence in those around you and your coaching it affects you. He's not Tom Brady, he's not taking average players and making them good. He's a good QB that needs quality around him which he didn't have which Geno has now. Have you noticed how the great Eli is struggling and he has 100x more talent than Mark last year, how about kaepernick? Flacco, etc... and all these guys have less talent than a year ago but still boatloads more than Mark last year.
Your point would be more valid if Mark didn't have the same mechanical issues in 09, 10, and 11. So Sanchez issues in 2012 were more than just lack of weapons.
he fell back to some bad habits, it wasn't ALL b/c of weapons/OC. he has to take responsibility for playing so poorly too but the bulk of the blame was on healthy talent/awful offensive scheme.
He never "fell back to some bad habits" he never fixed any of his bad habits in the first place. The bulk of the blame is on Sanchez for never improving.
we'll never know either way but Geno TOs kept TB in the game, a Geno TO got Buf back in the game, Geno TOs(and drops) cost us the NE game.
Are you sure the defense isn't to blame? I mean, c'mon...they gave up 13 points to New England in our only loss!
But when Sanchez throws 2 interceptions, it's the defense's fault because they allowed the offense to drive down the field? The Broncos game is no different than the Bills game except for the fact that the outcome was different. Can we end this stupid thread now? It's completely contradictory and there will never be an end to this thread - it's pointless horse beating bs. Wish we still had that cesspool section. And the worst part about the NE game is you don't even bring up the weather conditions, hell you bring up the weather conditions for the Vikings game even though Mark didn't do jack shit. Give it up Junc, it's over.
