Yup EJ Manuel and Geno played pretty much the same.

    Shut your dumb ass up.

If your impressed with those three games by Smith you must have loved Sanchez.

It seems a lot of Jet fans are happy with below average!

I've only seen Geno bouncing passes when throwing to his back in the backfield where there are defenders near the receiver. I wish Sanchez had learned to bounce some of those pick 6s he likes to throw in those situations.

As for our OL and running game. I don't remember either of them showing up for the Bucs game and he still managed to get a win there.

You also point out his interceptions. He's a rookie and that's expected. You want to see him bounce back from those and perform and he has done so very well. Will he throw more interceptions? of course he will, he's a rookie and the game hasn't slowed down for him yet. Incidentally, Peyton Manning threw 11 interceptions in his first 4 games as a rookie, so I don't think its appropriate to judge a rookie QB based on interceptions in his first few games.

From the reports from TB, it could be argued there is no "professional" coaching in TB

Do you know Geno is a rookie who missed some of the preseason and has started 3 NFL games? The way you are talking sounds like he's been doing this for 30 games, not 3. This is going to take some time to evaluate Geno and any 2013 draft picks, players don't develop instantly.

The funniest part of this is that SB Nation, the source Jetsfan chose to use for his reference of the Jets drafting Glennon at #39, is also the site that just before the draft called Geno Smith Unquestionably the best QB in the draft in a March grading of QB's.

Now this years class all had flaws, but the Buc's clearly have much better weapons on offense than the Jets.

Oh don't bother using reason with him it wont work. If you didn't know he was a joke before this thread should make everyone realize.

Geno is where he should be at as a rookie and just had his best game yet. All the people who matter can see that.

Please don't compare him to Peyton who is on his way to another MVP. Peyton went to the worst team in the NFL with no defense or offense and had to throw 575 passes the first year because they had no running game and were always playing from behind. To even say their names in the same context is a slam on Manning. Peyton is considered the best QB ever to be drafted as far as NFL ready, Smith was far from being ready and still is.

Maybe I'm all wrong, just maybe he wins us a couple SBs, then maybe I win the lottery tomorrow too.

Have you ever thought about switching teams? I mean, if you are right, you are going to be 'suffering' like the rest of us fans. Just try to bare a season with a rookie QB and a team trying to rebuild. Or is that too hard to ask for? Probably too much since you are so impatient.

of course you would take his post in this context and not the proper way which was implying that if you took peyton's first 4 games and it would project to the same bust label you have prematurely tagged geno with.

but intelligent football discussion is way above your scope of intellect that you won't understand so i don't know why i am bothering.
congrats troll you just wasted 2 minutes of my life

If Geno is like Randall, we will never ever win a damn thing. If Geno is like McNabb, we will never win a damn thing.. I don't know how any of you can even be excited if he turned out like them.

Geno hasn't given anybody a real reason to hate him yet. Sanchez being a bottom barrel QB caused the hate. And even then despite his terrible play I didn't root against Sanchez which is different than hating a player.

So many of you are nuts on here.
Randall Cunningham and McNabb were both very good QB's very capable of winning it all if surrounded by right team. Your telling me that these two QB's were not on par with Eli Manning as far as ability?

Cry for attention by OP, many Jets fans disliked the Geno pick, but not all of them cried and shit themselves over and it like you. Nobody here has anything to prove to you, if you don't like Geno, then go find a new team with a QB you do like, we won't miss you.

Agreed, every time Sanchez took a snap I was still hoping and rooting for something good to happen. Did I truly expect it? No, but I can honestly say I never rooted against Sanchez, that's like rooting against your own team.... why would someone want their QB to fail? I hated him because he cost us Football games, but I never thought "oh, I hope Sanchez throws an INT here and we lose." Not to be confused though, I have thought "I wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez throws an INT here and we lost." Even as someone who really likes what he saw out of Simms, and hopes he gets a starting shot (if not here, somewhere) I never root against Geno.... I want the Jets to win, I want this team to play well, it amazes me that there are so called "Jets fans" out there that dislike the idea of Geno playing well, just because they didn't want to draft him. Go find a new team if you're one of those fans.

First I've heard of a second round pick being labeled as a "splash" pick

I know this is a troll thread, and obviously he's made some mistakes protecting the football (like 99% of rookie quarterbacks do), but if you can't see Geno's potential in his (albeit limited) early Jets career, you are blind. Period.
