Wow Idzik really did strike out badly here.we get goodson back in week 5 but who knows how ready he will be.The titans are gonna focus all there efforts on stoping the run and forcing Geno to throw instead witch could be good or bad
This during the week immediately after Powell basically breaks a Jet record for runs into the second level of the defense. the hell?
Slightly over-emotional final paragraph. We are missing both Ivory and Goodson for one week only. Goodson is "off the grid" for only a few more days.
I wasn't happy when they cut Bell for Green. I think they should bring Bell back and hope Goodsen comes back ready to add a spark to the running game. For a big guy, Ivory is pretty fragile.
Anybody who really thinks Idzik was trying to remake the backfield with these castoffs is crazy..his only purpose in bringing these guys in was to save money. He will address it next year either through the draft or with some of the 50 million he will have to spend then.
I didn't like it in the spring and I certainly didn't like it for a fourth. Pre draft TGG was excited that Idzik wouldn't budge and commit a 4th for him and it was rumored the Jets were offering a 6th. Most were hoping the Saints would let him go for a 6th but the 5th being a more realistic outcome. I realize we needed cheap options, but a fourth rounder isn't exactly a pauper's resource for a team that is rebuilding. We'll see how it goes I guess.
All Jets fans' jaws will drop and be rendered speechless if Shonn Greene breaks Cromartie's tackle to score a long rushing TD.
It appears Green won't play this Sunday (with a quote from a "disappointed" Greene himself): http://www.gotitans.com/threads/rb-greene-at-least-another-week-away.89248/
Yeah. saw he would likely be out, was just speaking hypothetically in reference to AFC Divisional game. Even if he did play, everyone knows he'll never leave the trenches to even meet Cro in the secondary.
I wanted to think Ivory could overcome his injury history, but it looks like he will also be a member of the walking wounded. I love this guys running style, but he can't stay on the field. I don't blame the FO for taking a shot, he was a boom or bust (same as a draft pick). Hopefully he can come back in a few weeks, and the RB rotation can keep everyone fresh. I wonder what backs they worked out yesterday, the guy they signed to the PS is like 27. Seems like a couple years older for a PS player. Does Goodson return kicks and punts? Seems this team really needs a Leon type. Off topic- but I can't watch Gates back there anymore.
Yes indeed. Ivory & Goodson are temporary unless one of them tears it up. Either way I'm loving what I'm seeing from Powell thus far. If he can do similar against NOT-BILLS I'll be a very happy man. I'm puzzled by this. Maybe I'm slow today, but I'm not catching the irony.
Heard about it. Still we aren't totally toothless and Goodson is coming back soon. Geno needs the running game to be as effective as it was last week.
Thank god! With Kerley being so valuable in the slot, I cringe watching him return punts. It's not like he is a dynamic PR anyways, they really need someone who can do both in my opinion. Especially with such a dominant defense, they need to be able to play the field position game better. Goodson handled 48 kickoffs for the Panthers in 2010 and did pretty good from his stats. Looks like he had less of a chance after 2010 (I posted from phone before. So now I can actually look things up ). He never handled any punts tho :/
It seems to me it's ironic in more ways than one, Chris Ivory to me appears soft and black. So yes Ebony works. Smartass.
