One of my favorite players in the league, and imo, one of the best wr in the game...FUCK YES we should.
This past suspension was for codeine (ie Purple Drank). Remember, Holmes was one failed test away when he was traded for. The Jets gave up a 5th then, but I think most people would agree that Gordon has more upside at 22 years old. A 3rd rounder would be an absolute steal for this guy. Throw in Gates so Cleveland could actually field a team this year.
Only reason I lowball is the off field issues and the sword of domiciles hanging over his head in the form of a suspension if he messes up again, from what I gather a probable 1 year suspension. High talent yes, but what good is that talent if he's suspended for a season?
well that makes it worse as he's obviously a mix-n-match guy. I know he had pot issues going back to college, but if he's messing with narcotics too..... NYC maybe too tempting for him. He's still a very good player worth a conditional pick based upon future suspensions (lack of) and resigning. It's whether Cleveland would sign off on that. That's the only reason. I laugh when people say 5th rd. draft picks are worth more than PROVEN young talent, unless you know it's only a shortterm rental
Is jordan cameron available ? What would his price tag be? 1st- No 2nd maybe 3rd yes Our 3rd and the bucs 3rd - yes
I'm not giving up 2 3rd round picks for a guy who is one strike away from a year long suspension. I'm also not giving up 2 3rd rounders for Cameron. He's a good young TE but a couple of early draft picks is a huge price to pay for any NFL player who does not project to be a star at a position of high-impact.
Gordon had this to say about his failed drug test... Idk if its true or not... But when listening to the kid, he doesnt sound like your typical "thug" that gets into trouble and is a diva. Anyways, the asking price is probably too high for any team. I doubt he gets traded at this point.
Yeah, I imagine the Browns are asking for a second rounder right now. But, if the Jets could offer them their higher 3rd round (whether it be theirs or the Bucs'), then it might not be that different from say the Niners or Pats 2nd.
He had 10 catches for 145 yards and a TD against Vikings , They may not trade him anymore after that.It would kill Browns fans
I think hes more of a party guy than a thug for sure but that sounds like someone wrote a speech for him and the whole doctor prescribed could be an excuse. Id love Gordon on this team but that whole oh I was sick thing just sounds like an excuse to me. Maybe Im just being cynical. Either way hes a great WR and I'd love to have him here.
I would take Gordon or Little since Cleveland is offering both. the most I'd give for Gordon is a 3 and for Little I'd give a 6 or 7.
Kenny Britt might be traded too. I know I'm going to hear a lot about his attitude problems but they are not worse than Tone's. Lower price tag for a great talent. Tennessee just really does not like the guy but he could be a very good player if given the opportunity.
Hey guys, first post ever on this board. With that being said.. I would 100% trade a 3rd round pick for Josh Gordon. Hill and Gordon are both explosive, big play athletes with their best football ahead of them. IMO this is the perfect buy-low scenario, I believe the chance that Gordon stays clean is much better than drafting a impact WR in the 3/4 rounds of the draft. Of the 16 WRs drafted in the 3rd round in 2010/2011/2012 drafts, the only other starter-level guys are Eric Decker and T.Y. Hilton (there's a couple other borderline guys). I think he's worth the 3rd round pick.
A 3rd rounder for Gordon would be a great steal for the Jets. I understand the love of draft picks but Gordon is young and more proven then any 3rd round WR coming out of college would be. The chances of the Jets being able to land a guy with Gordon's talent in the 3rd round of the draft are slim.
I would. I'd try for a 4th- just like Ivory. I'd offer either a 2013 4th OR a 2013 5th with a conditional 2015 2nd if he's still on the team by April 1st 2015. If we get him, we'd go into next year with Gordon, Hill, Kerley, + either Holmes or a likely WR target (perhaps Maclin- he would make a lot of sense. Reuniting with MM+ coming a bit cheaper because of ACL injury). That's more than solid, and would allow us to take someone like Anthony Barr in the first round, and a TE in the second. In that scenario, we could come out of the draft with: 1. Barr 2. Lyerla 3. De'Anthony Thomas/Ka'Deem Carey 3. Tre Boston/Dion Bailey Wow.
