i am so glad i came in here, only because now i will surely look for this. i love those type of shows. thanks for spreading the info!
I get the coming up short for the hall of fame part, but the "among the most overrated" part sounds like absurd Yankee-hate.
My problem with Petite is he retired already and is likely going to inject himself again so he can come back out of retirement again.
I guess it's wall to wall Rivera coverage for the tank today. And obligatory "Rex can't coach", of course.
Dah Giants is tree and oh widda record uv oh an' tree, an' dats just gunna make it all da more excitin' when dey go on ah nice 9 game winnin' streak, dey are a smart team ta lull dem into ah false sense o' security so dey can peak in December an' January. What da Giants undahstand and da Jets don't is dat you wanna let da otha teams get tiyahd out winning da early games, and den you save up yer wins fer dah latah games and dats how ya win da Supah Bowls. Eli is smaht fer usin' up all his intahsepshuns dis early in dah season an' dis is uh brilyint coachin' decision by Coughlin. Da Jets are usin' up all their wins in da early part of da season, dey haffa quaddaback dat ain't even won uh Supah Bowl so how can dey have a good team if dat Geno Smith didn't even win no Supah Bowls? Dis kid has played tree games, okay, tree games in dah regyalah season so far and didn't win no Supah Bowls.
I was listening to Francesa a week and a half ago and the thought occurred to me that when there is a sea change he gets out in front of it better than anybody else in the business. He was talking about the Jets-Patriots game like the Jets were the team going to come out 2-0. It'll bear watching (or listening.)
When the ESPN Power Rankings debuted with the Jets at 32, Francesca said he didn't think the Jets were the worst team in the league -- then, sneeringly, he said, "they might be 30th, but they're not the worst." I think it was Sept 4; he was really ribbing the Jets; I want to call in today and ask him if he can replay his Jets comments from that day. Regarding the Giants: he'll probably call the dusting by the Panthers a "throw-away" game for the Giants and how they just need to move on from it. Fuck Francesca.
I'm not sure how he'll talk about the Jets but I think he'll kill the Giants. A total no-show on the week where Coach Coughlin (a guy he likes) finds out his brother tragically died? Gutless. Just glad the Jets are giving New York a competitive team to root for
Hes being pretty fair about the Giants so far, says its right to question coughlins job and Jerry Reese.
if you guyz think dat dis mawnin da jetz ah bettah den da giantz yaw outta yaw mind wit dis stuff...da jetz with dat classluss rex ryun are goin nowheyah!! you think theyre awl world cuz dey beat da billz and da overrated bucs?? YA LAWST!
Francessa also said "you get a pass for winning the Super Bowl. The Giants get a pass because they've gotten results .... they didn't go on some 'flukey' plaoff run...." Flukey playoff run? Gee, I wonder who that not-so-thinly-vailed shot was directed at...
I usually dont get too pissed at this fat cunt but today he starts with Giants and tells me hes gonna talk Jets at 2 and yankees at 3. Fine. He talks Giants from 1-220. Talks Jets from 221-240 and then starts talking Yankees ( including Arod appeal-who cares) 19 minutes on Jets hahahha. And he looked like his dog died during the Jet calls. He was LABORING through the calls
When I think of fluke playoff runs, the 2007 and 2011 Giants immediately come to mind. At no point was either team considered the best during the regular or even close to the best. Both flirted with missing the playoffs. In 2007, fans wanted Coughlin and Eli run out of town towards the end of the year. In 2011, prior to the game with the Jets, everyone was going on about what a disappointing embarrassment the Giants were. Then let's look at the runs themselves. Helmet Catch, Kyle Williams fumbling twice, Packers OC's kid dying week of game and players attending his funeral the Friday before the game instead of prepping, Favre making bonehead prayer throw off back foot in OT, etc etc etc. Giants are the definition of a fluke and no one will ever consider the 2007 or 2011 Giants as great SB champions. Except clowns like Francesa
I dont think there's such a thing as a fluky playoff run...teams are so close now, there's no real dominant team...anything can happen in a single elimination game.
Not to sidetrack the thread here, but can we admit if the Jets tried to pull the nonsense the Yankees did yesterday they'd be murdered for it? I was embarrassed to be a Yankee fan yesterday.
