Some people are just never happy. This wasn't 300 yards against a bad D. This was 500+ yards. That's a HUGE difference.
I think it was still important that Geno showed he can stick a deep ball in there. Teams have been daring him to prove that. Now they will have to give him a little more breathing room underneath.
It's really nice to have an "attacking" offense -- as Rex said he wanted in the off-season -- and an OC who likes to take deep shots. Not sure we've had that since . . . Vinny's era? Ken O'Brien's? It's definitely been a while . . .
What I love is that every PC no matter the result, Geno is talking about how he needs to improve, and how he is determined to get better. Mark used to say all the right things, but Geno imo clearly owns up to his mistakes much more than Mark ever has, and clearly once more has more potential than Mark has ever shown. I'm by no means saying he is the answer, and that we are SB contenders from here on out past 2020, but I am cautiously optimistic.
I'm just glad our Wr's actually looked like NFL calibre players instead of Pop Warner types. Baby steps will lead to greatness in the not so distant future.
They tried that and it was ineffective. Until this OL matures together, we don't have the OL for those kinds of plays against a good DL, which the Bills have. People keep complaining about the Wildcat, but it was more effective than running it up the middle with stacked sets was.
I like it as well. But I'm very concerned that MM will start abandoning the run as he is known to do if Geno hits his stride early. I like high powered passing offenses, but the better defenses you see can exploit that, and MM got smacked in the face for it with the Eagles. I'm enjoying the balance we saw yesterday.
We won't have another 150 yard runner all year but I am hoping when we get Goodson back in two weeks we can at least have the appearance of a decent running game.
I like Powell a lot and he had a great game, but I was wincing at the way he was carrying the ball in one hand through traffic. There was one early carry where he was getting spun around and he still had the ball in one hand and away from his body. That will cost him if he continues to do it.
i keep seeing people talk about martys play calling with the eagles but he rarely called plays during his tenure as OC there ... i think it was maybe two of ten seasons. and in that short period they ran the ball far more than when reid was the play caller
You couldn't be more wrong. He spent 10 years with the Eagles. For the last 7 of the 10 he was the primary offensive playcaller.

He was labeled as the primary playcaller the last seven of his ten years there. Why does everyone keep saying he only called plays for 2 years lol He was the offensive coordinator calling all offensive plays from 2006-2012. He also called plays at the end of 2005. But for six years, he was the eagles offensive coordinator
