Today they were, no question. Without basically an entire secondary theres not much the front 7 is going to be able to do. We need Spiller to be effective on offense I think. Manuel was not good today. Hopefully Spiller is not out long, and hopefully we can get some of our secondary guys back. Who knows. The Bills and Jets are going to be up and down from week to week this year.
His 9 yards on 10 carries was really killing us. Jets should have won 30-6. Jets defense is elite, and Geno is better than EJ. Jets are usually one of the least penalized teams and Geno will only make less mistakes as the year goes on. Once both of those things get cleaned up, Jets will be a top team in this league.
The game was only close because we had 19 penalties. The most for this franchise is 43 years, 3 shy of the NFL record. seemed like half of them occurred on your only TD drive of the game. other than that drive, the Jets dominated the game. The good news for us is that our problems from this game can be fixed. Good luck fixing yours, hopefully EJ learns how to throw a sideline pass in-bounds.
1 game in which one QB looked better does not mean he IS better. Especially when that QB gets to go against 4th string secondary players for an entire game. We couldnt play our real defense (blitzing, exotic) because we couldnt play man. We had 3rd string safeties playing corner. Who is your 3rd string safety? Imagine that guy covering the opposing team's slot receiver. Manuel was bad today against a great defense. Geno looked ok against a horrid secondary. Geno even threw two really bad interceptions. I dont think either QB looked good today. I'm certainly not going to say one QB is better off of one game. If anything, Manuel would be considering he played better than Geno in both of the first two weeks.
If you think the jets are a really bad football team then you don't know what the hell you're watching, and try as you might you cannot drag the Jets down to the Bills level. We wrecked you for 520 yards of total offense. Refs kept Buffalo in the game

You lost by 7 because of a sloppy drive on our part (Kyle Wilson) . Had your drive ended numerous times,but stupid penalties(some unwarranted) prolonged it to a eventual TD. I do agree that Bills and Jets are 3 and 4 in the division,but the Bills are a distant 4.
Yep he was really killing us prior to the injury. 10 carries for a whopping 9 yards! If Calvin Pace does not essentially let Fred Jackson go on that 60 yards run, you had no running game.
I keep seeing the argument "if we didnt make mistakes, you wouldnt have scored" and "refs" etc. Yet when someone says to you "if we had our secondary" or "spiller" or whatever the excuse is, thats not acceptable. I also see "the bills should be 0-3 and jets 3-0" which is the same stupid argument. How should the bills be 0-3? They were beating the pats for the majority of the game, until .01 second left. Can the jets say the same? If anything, the Bills should be 2-1. Yet when the Jets are basically given a free victory courtesy of the dumb tampa bay penalty, thats perfectly ok as a win for the Jets, but somehow its not the same for the bills. I guess theres only one way streets on this message board.

My comment wasnt really concerning who is the best in the division, it was more directed to the fact that 1st and 2nd place is a two horse race right now and theres no question. I think both the Bills and the Jets have the opportunity to get better throughout the year because the rookie QBs could certainly progress, but right now, week 3, the bills and jets arent challenging miami. Not sure when you guys play the Pats, but if its before they get gronk and amendola back I'm definitely picking Miami to win. Beating Atlanta is no joke. You guys should be excited down there and I'm sure you are. Congrats.
Miami looks for real. they seem fairly complete. Not great in any particular aspect but very well rounded. Buffalo is the least talented of the 4 teams and already 0-2 in the division
true enough, here we tend do look at the games with green colored glasses I think the difference in these two teams right now is that the Jets D can be elite and the Bills d can be good. By the way it was not just your secondary that had a bad game today. Powell had 140+ yards. Both of the offenses are suspect at best. Both rookie QB's have started to show flashes but have a long way to go. So we have no idea what we will see from game to game. The only knocks on the Jets d so far that I see is the penalties in this game and the lack of turnovers created. They even played pretty well when Coples was out, a good sign.
I definitely wouldnt agree with that. You saw a Bills defense without a lot of starters today: Marcel Dareus Mario Williams Alex Carrington Stephon Gilmore Leodis McKelvin Jairus Byrd Ron Brooks I think the defense is just as "talented" as the Jets, just not as good, as its their first year in the scheme. We shut Brady down just like you did (actually got more sacks and turnovers) and made Cam look like a boy. This week it seems everyone was out of the lineup. And on offense, I also think we're more talented, or at least just as talented. Actually, New England looks the least talented to me. They just have Brady and Belichick to cover it up.
I agree with all of that. We missed Dareus and Carrington up front today in the run game. Jets defense is elite.
