I know the Bills defense will never be confused with the '85 Bears or '00 Ravens, but since when does our offense put up 500+ yards?

    Some notes:

-513 total yards in the game
-Powell had the game of his life with 149 on the ground
-Executed deep shots down field that were actually SUCCESSFUL
-Good pass protection allowing Geno to step into his throws downfield (did Mario Williams do anything this game? Barely heard his name)

Awesome job today by Marty, Geno, Powell, Holmes, and the rest of the o-line (when they weren't committing penalties).

This is the beginning of something special. Our offense is beginning to click. Hill is slowly growing into his own, Holmes is healthy, Kerley is just an awesome slot receiver, and for once, we have a running game again. Pair that with an awesome offensive coordinator, and we are a few weapons away from being playoff contenders. Geno Smith made some rookie mistakes, as expected, but again, he looked poised and unphased by his mistakes. I'm excited. Very excited

We really need to stop turning the ball over, thats my thoughts on the offense.

Only issue I have with MM is with some of his calls on 3rd and short, just mind boggling.

Kerley coming back was huge for this offense. He was a big factor early on and it seemed like the Bills starting keying in on him which opened things up for Tone and Hill.

I know the Bills were banged up in the secondary so I'm not expecting some of those long TD's we got but it was good to see us taking shots deep and giving the receivers a chance to make a play. The wildcat was sprinkled in nicely as well. It's amazing what a competent OC can do for a team.

What I am most excited about though is that Geno seems like he is really learning out there. After that first pick to Leonhard on the underthrown deep ball he made sure to get some air under the ball and put it in a place that only his receiver can get it. Geno is looking sharper with every snap.

I just hope Geno cuts down on the turnovers. Those are killers. We aren't that good to overcome them on a consistent basis yet. Let's see how the offense does against the Titans next week.

I'll eat my word IF, IF, Geno can continue to fire the ball the way he did today. Keene in mnd, this was good weather against the bills. It's like beating the Washington generals.

Agreed. I was actually really nervous he was going to pass it on 3rd down at the end of the game.

Hard to call a 'perfect' game, but I just don't get the logic behind a roll out pass on 3rd and 1 when we were a) ramming it down their throats and b) roll out a QB which limits half the field on a pass play

Not going to get wound up over one game, I remember the first Bills game last year.
Geno showed signs of promise, but has some areas he'll need to clean up as he progresses (not knocking him by any means as its his 3rd NFL start).
I think the Bills win this game if they weren't so banged up if for no other reason that the Jets just kept killing themselves with penalties and a couple turnovers. But they won the game and that's what matters for now. It's a promising first step, but it's only a first step.

    high risk, high reward

If it doesn't work, its a facepalm play selection. Very easy to 2nd guess

It was good to see execution in both passing and rushing. Turnovers hurt, but overall a good game by the O. The vertical passing game was a beauty, Geno can really chuck bombs.

I guess my mentality is to usually play it safe. 3rd and short I prefer just to ram it down their throats. If you can't get one yard, then you deserve to be on 4th down.

Jets had 12 penalties combined in the first two games. I'm going to chalk this up to the refs being brain dead.

The turnovers (at least one of those picks) was basically due to Geno's inexperience. It's his third NFL career start, hopefully he'll continuing to learn from them.

If we keep throwing the ball down the field as much as we do we will have to live with turnovers. Those are risk/reward passes and we will get INTs because of that. Although the the 2nd INT I agree it was just a terrible pass.

The good thing about throwing the ball down the field is helped our running game tremendously. Once we started hitting a few deep passes our running game came alive.

What is remarkable is we are now a pass 1st offense that opens up the running game by passing the ball down the field. To do that with a rookie QB is amazing.

How scary could this guy be....once he learns to avoid the INTs. What I like is in his post-game interview he realizes that this is a problem in his game and I have full confidence that with his work ethic he will turn this around..

Took some penalties, the two picks, and Ivory getting hurt from them playing a perfect game
