Yeah so who coaches that defense? This wasn't the worst coached game ever, not even close. It was an average to below average game. The defense jumping offsides, not sure how you blame that on Rex. THe penalties, not sure either, as the Jets have avoided them the past two games, it wasn't an ongoing problem. The challenges are the key thing. Besdies that, I didn't mind the playcalling offensively or defensively. The clock late in the 2nd and late in the 4th were managed perfectly. Those challenges were brutal though, but I don't think that's enough to call it the worst game ever
The thing I don't understand is people who think Sanchez and Geno suck and then say Rex suck. If Sanchez and Geno suck and REx ahs a winning record with them, what does that say about Rex?
Rex shouldn't be fired, but the penalties today were unacceptable. That needs to be fixed immediately, as in by next week. The fact that the Jets won in spite of that says a lot about the Bills. If Wilson is going to play like that, then he shouldn't be on this team. Easily one of the worst wins I've seen.
In game coaching, sure. You can't ignore what Rex has done with the D, the same D everybody is saying is so great, is a Rex Ryan defense. This game, being this bad with challenges and penalties, is an anomaly. Rex isn't a great in game coach, he's had some stinkers before, but this type of game isn't normal.
Exactly. Missing the second challenge makes the first one look bad, but they were calling time out anyway.
Not a day I'd put on the resume if I were Rex Ryan..We won and that's all the record will show. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good.
That's a good way of putting it, not on the resume but not worst one ever. It can't be the worst coached game ever if you won it
Personally, I don't think he has to be. I'll take his great defense with his very average, sometimes below HCing. Sounds weird, but I think Rex has been what has really kept us competitive in '11 and '12. A good HC whose defense doesn't play on Rex's level doesn't go 8-8 in '11.
The question is HOW those challenges are used and Rex was either given really bad advice from the coaching booth upstairs OR he just fucked up and got lucky.
The challenges were bad but I dont get what else he did that offends the OP so much. Bills were lucky to be in this one.
Quite right. This is NOT the worst coached game ever, but it certainly rates up there with some badly coached games. We won in spite of the coaching, not because of it.
not so fast Rex isn't going to the H.O.F anytime soon, but isn't the worst coach in the league, yes he isn't as polished as you would like but he made a mistake and he will learn from it, this isn't college he can't rip into players like they are kids
